Maybe I have it confused with the Boba/Jango Fett jetpack that I had also ordered around the same time, but for some reason I remember telling my wife she'd have to do some work on it. Not that it matters since I ended up cashing in the order for a gift card since then.

Not sure it will have a metal rod in it as I thought Mark Von Ohlen (brand manager) had mentioned they want to make it Con approved.

I guess we'll get the answer once yours arrives.

I'm surprised the price is the same as the regular Mando helmet. Maybe these require less effort for the metallic paint since they will be heavily weathered on top of it.

Actually, I really like the look of the battle damaged version. Not that I couldn't do that to an existing helmet myself and I don't plan to spend $700 to get one.

I wonder why they didn't do an icy version.

My Rey Quarterstaff showed up today, overall not too bad for what it is. It has some heft to it, and it feels like there is a rod going through most of it, but stopping 6 inches short from the ends. I kinda lost interest in it from when I ordered this (2018 IIRC), but cool nonetheless. Its a good cosplay piece.

Yeah, they feel sturdy enough. They have some flex, but I don't think they will break off unless you put a lot of stress on them. I hung it from my bike scale and it weighs 4 pounds, 7 ounces. The ends have some flex but the center section is pretty rigid. It would definitely hurt if you got hit with this thing.
For the price I paid back years ago, its a pretty good deal. But I wouldn't pay the $350 price tag for it now. The strap clasps are not accurate (and are different from the original Anovos pics) and the straps that snap around the pole feel pretty cheap and not very durable. When I was flexing those fins, it was looking like the paint was going to start flaking off. There's a black tape band around one section with the Star Wars & Denuo Novo logos that I was going to peel off, but it was lifting off the paint with it, so I left it (it's under one of the snap straps)

It just applied automatically when I went to their Facebook page. It's only if it's your first purchase through the shop on the mobile app.

No idea about what hyperfirm consisted of by those that imploded the entire operation but original hyperfirm was a heavy duty rubber skin backed with an expanding rubber. Was a two part process. Not self skinning.

Interesting. Everything I remember hearing at the time was that it was what I mentioned. But that was so long ago, I don't remember who was saying it, or when in the timeline. But yeah, it could be that, too.

I ended up pre-ordering the Death Trooper helmet and then emailed DN to let them know I couldn't find it in the list to get the extra 20% off and asked if it could be applied. I figure it won't hurt to ask. Worst thing they will do is say "no", but I will still get the helmet I was planning to order anyway.
