Anovos.com / denuonovo.com discussion

After 300 plus E-Mails and no response about my replacement from May of 18 I finally sent 30 E-Mails to the top dog Joe Salcedo and much to my astonishment one day I had to sign for a package from USPS. I hadn’t ordered anything and when I opened it up . Aprrox 3 months ago !!

Just curious about the details of why you needed a replacement? My Discovery Phaser came Broken because it has virtually no protection and it looks like they are still shipping in those flimsy boxes with a single sheet of 4mm foam between the brittle plastic and the top and bottom of the thin box wall. They said they would replace mine but never did and I'm one in a group who is suing them right now.

All of the Gold Paint turned Black after a couple of months ! I agree about the flimsy box. Fortunately the replacement arrived unscathed ! Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope you will get results from the lawsuit !

Got this regarding my Star Lord jacket

Thank you for reaching out to us. To be clear, we are not Anovos nor did we buy them. We are a company owned by NECA and Rubies, two established companies with a long history in costumes and collectibles. We only have the Star Wars license, which we got this year, but as a service to fans, we are going to make Anovos' old backorders our priority.

If we are able to get the Marvel license we can help those customers with their orders.

Thanks,

If they claim they are not Anovos nor did they buy them then why did they assume the Anovos domain?? This makes no sense all and is deliberately confusing to the public and I would call this new venture under suspicion because of this duality.

Back in June, I bought a Galactica warrior jacket from a company I found online when I did an internet search for one. The company I found was showing the same production photos that were on the Anovos site. They assured me that the jacket they were selling matched the pictures or I could return it for a full refund. So I took a chance and got it. What arrived was the Anovos classic BSG jacket. It is beautiful, but I really got the feeling that it "fell of the back of the truck". So now after reading the posts here, it all makes sense to me now. I also get the feeling that if I had originally ordered this from Anovos, I never would have seen it.-Much like the Trek bomber jacket I ordered over 2 years ago. No choice but to hope this new company can deliver on it.

There has clearly been things going on behind the scenes which the general public are not privy to. Unless someone can point to actual evidence that the same people from Anovos are behind DN, I don't understand this suspicion. So far, DN has shown they are capable of doing far more than Anovos ever could. If Anovos could all of a sudden deliver product, communicate to customers in a timely fashion, and actually follow through on promises made, why wouldn't they do so as Anovos? It would be the biggest comeback this hobby has ever seen.

More than likely, what has happened, is Disney took Anovos and all their assets and included them in their deal with Neca/Rubies. If Anovos owed so much to customers, they likely also owed quite a bit to Disney. That would make DN's statement that they neither are Anovos or bought them 100% factual. All of their dealings would have been with Disney/LFL, not Anovos.

When we don't know all the facts, I agree it is confusing, but I'm sure they are telling the truth. Perhaps there was a deal, that Anovos would sell (or transfer) the SW license, along with the assets of the helmets/moulds/drawings/digital files etc. and take some of the weight off of their ongoing lawsuits by arranging that also the outstanding SW orders will be fulfilled.

Mind you this is pure speculation, which I glued together loosely around the facts. NECA probably saw this as an opportunity to get into the lucrative SW helmet market, but found it would be difficult to gain the confidence of the market, when you have thousands of Anovos customers that were ripped off. Once bitten, twice shy. A solution would be to give those ripped off customers what they ordered. Some confidence restored...I guess.

But it would be nice knowing the facts of this "deal". I think it would go a long way in perhaps restoring faith in the market.

If Anovos still has SOME kind of money left, then the new company could be sending out the items AT COST, where the literal cost of making the item is being paid for by what money Anovos has LEFT. In other words, it might not be costing the new company anything to fulfill the orders.

I'm just thinking logically here on what kind of deal a company like Anovos might strike.

Denuo Novo replied to my initial email saying they couldn't find my Star Wars order. I replied that it was actually a Star Trek order and they told me to contact Anovos customer service and they couldn't help me.

They are only handling Star Wars merchandise apparently. So anyone looking for their Trek stuff is apparently out of luck !

Yep.. I wish I could transfer my Star Trek pre-order to store credit and get some Star Wars items. Never got a reply to that email though. :p

What Anovos Customer Service? Does that even exist anymore? I'm sure they already know the answer. The last guy I dealt with there went by the name of Reggie but I doubt he is there anymore. He likely left because of too many bouncing pay checks. I dont know for sure, just my colorful-pissed- off-at- Anovos conjecture.

I quote that part of the email Denuo Novo sent me: "You can also reach out to ANOVOS directly at support@anovos.com for information on those items." (Referring to Star Trek items). Hopefully in time they will get to non Star Wars items.

Yup, I just got a reply back to DN as well with the same message. I do appreciate their quick communication. Very refreshing and promising. As far as Anovos, they have gone ghost but if anyone does here back from them, I hope they would share that here. I will as well but I have sent my info to the two class action suits and have not heard back from them either.

I just contacted Denuo about a Star Wars helmet I bought in Nov 2018 (yes, almost 3yrs now!) that I’ve been waiting for. Said it would arrive “early 2022” and I could get store credit not a refund. We’ll see what they charge for the helmet when it’s available.

Does anyone know if Denuo Novo will get the license to do Star Trek any time soon?, I messaged them on Twitter but they never responded.

1) I would say dont hold your breath.
2) Consider yourself screwed if you are waiting on an Anovos Trek item.
3) weigh the option of putting out a bounty on the former owner of Anovos.
