Funny thing that detail was on their early image after the Anovos take over

So it does appear someone has dropped the ball, something we won't know until they start being shipped I guess

I suspect the prototype photos on the Denuo Novo site were photos of the Anovos prototype.

I received mine from Denuo Novo. Photos are in this post.

It's good that Denuo Novo updated the photos on the Premier Execution page. It's bad that both of their Executioner helmets are missing that part painted black.

The Executioner Premier helmet was made in China so I'm sure they were made in a large batch.

Yeah the original Denuo Novo photo is the same as the Anovos. Look at all the bright highlight spots where the light reflects off the helmet. It's the same photo. Many of Denuo Novo pre-order photos are just Anovos until they're able to update them.

They changed the sale. Now it is 15% off costumes and 10% off everything else.
A Denuo Novo ad on Facebook says "10% Off Sitewide + Special Daily Deals". Maybe the items with the extra discount changes throughout the sale period. The banner ad on the Denuo Novo site doesn't give you the same impression that the percent off will vary throughout the sale.

Received the 501st Clone lid yesterday, to sit alongside the (clean) all-white version. I am very impressed with these buckets. That is a far different impression than what I had when I received DN’s Tie Pilot lid (probably just the heft/feel difference due to materials).

Anyways, these are my new favorite buckets in my collection - They make my Cybercraft versions look emaciated/awful by comparison.

I have an Anovos OT TIE Pilot helmet. I believe the Denuo Novo is pretty much the same thing. If you don't like those because of the flimsiness, you wouldn't like the ABS replicas of those, X-Wing helmets, or OT stormtrooper helmets made by most makers. The actual props were flimsy like that. There are some more sturdy versions which some people prefer. There are even some made out of fiberglass.

I have the RS Propmasters Stormtrooper, Biker Scout and Snowtrooper lids.

I get what you are saying about the feel of all of the ABS/PVC lids (in fact, in fairness to DN, to me, their Tie Pilot feels a lot ‘sturdier’ than the RS Propmasters pieces).

I guess, my convoluted rationale is that I half expected the RS Propmaster pieces to feel that way in their effort to be true to the original props. The value of those lids to me was ‘this is just like you grabbed a prop off the set’.

With DN, I guess I thought all of their buckets would be ‘idealized’ versions (accurate, or close to…but constructed in a fashion that the originals were not.)

Now that I have the feel for the various materials and their ‘sturdiness’ (including a resin Mando bucket), I can throttle my expectations/purchases accordingly.

For the most part Denuo Novo is making the helmets that were previously produced by Anovos in the same way. Anovos made the OT TIE Pilot and stormtrooper helmets/armor out of vacuformed ABS. Anovos did clean up the helmets and sharpen edges. Many people feel they went too far with sharpening the OT stormtrooper. I assume when Denuo Novo releases their OT Stormtrooper that it will be the same as the Anovos. Personally I would prefer if they made a Rogue One style since there are already lots of options for the OT style.

When Anovos produced the Royal Guard helmet they made it out of fiberglass even though the original is two vacuformed ABS halves glued together. I assume there were concerns with the durability and the labor involved in producing it like the original. Even RS offers two versions of the Biker Scout helmet. One the original way and another the more durable/lower labor way.

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone producing OT TIE Pilot helmets that are not vacuformed ABS. There have been some fiberglass OT stormtrooper and X-Wing pilot helmets and the Black Series are a more rigid plastic.

Interesting! I could definitely see an ABS Royal Guard lid annoying me to no end.

I do have the desire to pick up a 'widow's tears' version of the TIE from RS in the future (including the hoses), as I think I'd be satisfying my need to have my 'core' OT helms in the authentic format. Past that, though I think I'd want to focus on the fiberglass or resin options that arise in the future.

For Christmas, my wife surprised me with the FOTK Stormtrooper kit. I am just astounded at the size of the box. I built the Anovos OTTK, and I don’t remember that box being so large…

My wife’s order was purchased and delivered in a week, so some rapid shipping/delivery from Denuo Novo…

Haven’t had a chance to dive into the box yet…

Guess I need to pick up a bucket…

It's a heck of a ride. I'm waiting for the extra arms and legs I ordered to thicken things up. The instructions are unaltered from the Anovos draft. The templates for drilling the holes for the holster and kit-kats have the holes in the wrong places. There are no instructions for attaching the spats. The outer seam on the lower legs is backward...

I'm still working on cleanup and prep.

Oof… from what I’ve seen, these are a step (or maybe a few steps) up in complication from the OTTK kits. I found the OTTK fairly straightforward after some research, but I’ll be honest - this kit scares me…

Someone from the FISD just finished this kit and applied for Centurion, so I think it’s doable to make this a nice looking kit. More homework to be done!

What is the purpose for thickening the pieces? Is it to make them more durable for trooping or to make them more screen accurate?
