DEC ANH Hero Blaster Kit Builds

I've said it before, but paste wax makes a painted finish look and feel awesome. I used a dark brown. Just apply a thin layer, let dry and buff with a cloth. Repeat until you likey. The feel is improved immensely. (see my above pic.)

Will the next run be announced here, or on the page? I absolutely don't want to miss out on this. Is there a mailing list I can get in on? Can I camp out outside your shop? :lol

The pre-sale will start in a couple of weeks, manufacturing will start beginning of August and take a couple of months.
Info page: http://darkenergycreations.com/currentproject.aspx
I am working on a newsletter but it will not be ready yet

Good deal! I have the page bookmarked, along with this thread. I will definitely be paying close attention to both. Very excited about this!

sale going up this weekend :cheers
I will start first week in August and delivery will be mid/end October or before if I'm done sooner.

Oh hell yes! That is fantastic! Are there a limited number of kits available, or is the run just up for a limited time? It might be Tuesday before I can send payment, but I want in on this one!

Good to see these available again, but I'm not sure what to get. The cast kit + TLC (or more like blood/sweat/tears) or the steel detail kit? There are some great blasters in this thread, but I'm not sure what set I'm looking at from blaster to blaster. Did anybody use the cast kit? how about the steel kit guys? got any comparisons or thoughts on the matter?

Cheers.

The cast kit is good but lacks the ultimate accuracy and detail of the full steel or machined aluminum kits.

But everyone wanted the compromise so the price would be low. Can't have it both ways. That kind of machining is super time consuming.

Just checking before I order, being in Canada sadly I can't get a denix c96 so I have to go the airsoft route. The 2 guns I was looking at are:

HFC Mauser C96 Gas Pistol
https://taktikairsoft.com/product/hf...ol-metal-grey/

Umarex M712 Full-Auto
https://www.replicaairguns.ca/umarex...-co2-bb-pistol

Personally leaning towards the HFC because I can get a short clip for it, however the Umarex would be easier to install the kit on because you can separate the upper/lower halves of the gun. Yes I know neither are really screen accurate but it's my only option. Thoughts?

If you epoxy the washers and crossbar on then you can go with the one that doesn't come apart,
I think the magazine is an issue though, it won't look right

Very much a work in progress.... Especially as I ran out of black paint, but even an absolute novice with very limited tools/workspace/time can get acceptable results... (Just in case any other novice/first time builders are on the fence with this).

Lol, I don't suppose anyone has the steel kit and the aluminium cast kit do they? Looking for comparisons and opinions. If I had a real mauser or MGC it would be the steel, no questions. Stuck with a denix (gonna re-work it) and am unsure if it would be worth the bigger outlay for the steel. If I'm gonna sweat it out over the denix, I could probably make the aluminium cast look quite good anyway, just not sure.

I'm no expert, but I took the kit over to a friend's workshop (he makes specialist displays for museums, theatre productions etc), to see if he could tap the bolt holes for me (he didn't have the right size so I used epoxy), but he was really impressed with the quality of the turned aluminium parts.
