Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

Some guys on here (I think LordSatyr8) have posted photos of future issues. They look like the back covers of the magazines. Can someone tell me where you are finding those? I am curious to look ahead.

If I'm understanding the question, you are talking about people who are on the front lines--places where the subscriptions started first (England, I think) and who were among the first to subscribe in those areas. So they are getting everything first. And helping us out by posting the most up to date stuff.

I'm curious about the ladder.

In the film, from the corridor, the ladder seems angled towards the side of the ship (90 degrees to the cockpit access hall).

From the gunners seat, it faces towards to the front (or, beneath the gunner).

In the model, the ladder will have to be in line sideways with the access hall wall, instead of 90 degrees to it.

That is, unless I'm missing something.

I agree. You have it spot on. The orientation of the ladder as we see it in the film from the access corridor is different from the orientation of the ladder when we see its ends in the turret area.

I have a request for all you UK modelers out there that have gotten issue 39 and above. I could use some good measurements... here's what I need.

I need the length of the long hydralic pistion plastic pieces and they metal pins (separate if possible)
I need the length of the plastic holders for those parts that is screwed onto the frame as well as their width dimensions.
I need to distance the ramp travels before stopping on opening and the distance the longest metal pins travel when it's closed
I need the distance between the two long supports.
Would also like pics of the motor assembly opened up and pics of the gears inside.

If anyone can get these for me I would greatly appreciate it. Would like to create a new motor assembly that could be printed and use the motor and switch that is supplied to move it above the front two ramp pistons so that it can be taken out of the middle of the ramp. Any help would be appreciated!

In regard to modding the gunner stations, something has occurred to me.

I have been wondering what kind of vertical support would be inside the model. Seeing how the gunner stations are glued to the outer turret, and then that being screwed down, with a tube in between the stations I can see how this structure could double as a center support for the frame.

If that's the case, I can see problems with replacing the stations with less 'durable' materials, such as PE.

I think that rather than reconstructing the whole station from PE, it may be better to (carefully) cut and panel the plastic parts with PE.

I don't know anything about the strength of printed parts as I have never handled any.

I was thinking that too. Even if an aftermarket gunner station kit was to be released tomorrow I'd be hesitant in buying it just in case there is some sort of special support for it that helps give rigidity to the frame. Better to wait until both gunner stations are complete and frame too.

Lordsatyr8 I've got issues 37-40 coming this week so I can measure that stuff for you and take pics. The motor I won't have for another month :(

IMG_8172.JPG UP to 42 /- shes a beauty ...

In regards to the gunner turret, maybe the inevitable PE aftermarket set is glued to the existing walls only, with maybe a few holes drilled in the plastic for lights? That should still maintain the structural integrity of the turret tubes.

Kind of what I was trying to say...

Just got an email from Model space...and they are having a deal to lock in $1 shipping! This deal is good for the falcon too..which would save you a ton..since shipping is like 6 bucks a pop...Kinda annoyed they screw the early buyers..but hey..if you have been waiting to buy..buy now!

Heres some cut and paste from email:
Spooktacular Savings - $1 SHIPPING ON ALL MODELS

Treat yourself to a new scale model and just pay $1 on the shipping cost. Which model will you choose… Star Wars Millennium Falcon? Douglas DC-3? Lamborghini Huracan?

Purchase any model between October 21st and November 2nd and receive $1.00 shipping. $1 shipping applies to all subscriptions, including complete kit purchases.

For example if you purchase a 12 month subscription, the shipping is $1.00 per month versus the standard $9.99 per month. A complete kit is $1 shipping versus the standard $39.99 shipping.

dammit..............now i have to order it............

Subscribed a week ago and they shipped me issues 1-32. Missed the 1 dollar deal by 1 week. That saves just under $170.00 for 25 shipments.
On a US subscription, what time of each month do they release the new monthly issues? When will they start shipping issues 33-36 to US subscribers?

But it it all shipping or just the 1st shipment? It's not clear.
It's $1 for each time it ships.... so for me on the falcon its 25 x $6.99 shipping.... with this deal its 25 x $1 ..which means it costs $25 total over 2 years for shipping..

You're making the same math mistake I did... its 25 x $6.99 = 174.75 ... but you still have to pay the $1 shipping each month... so its 174.75 - 25 = $149.75 saved

From the time that you first subscribed, they go in 27-28 day cycles (starting on the nearest Monday). You will be billed on a Monday and the shipment will be sent out on the following Thursday... depending on where you live, from the time it's shipped to the time you receive the package (I get a shipment notice Thursday and usually receive my package on Saturday).
