Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

Hi Trimotor.

Many thanks for your interest!!

Yes, I've started designing the complete cockpit, but I need the cone to see the final size. The De Ago Falcon has a flat cabin floor, totally wrong, so I need the cone to calculate the cabin floor width of the two floor levels.

I will be posting here about my DeAgo parts.

Thanks

I am not sure if this will be any help to you, but I measured up the cockpit cone today.

Cone
Inside diameter (widest point) 73mm
Inside length (from inside front windows to cockpit rear wall) 81mm

Cockpit floor
Overall length, including centre console 64mm
Width at widest point 62mm
Stays 62mm wide for 22mm length then tapers to a with of 31 mm at 55 mm length.

Available depth in cone below level of supplied floor (At point of contact with cockpit wall, before taper of cone) 13mm

Hopefully you might get an idea of the sort of space available within the cone from these figures. To get the correct steps in the floor, I would think that your detail part would have to attach to the cockpit wall below the level that the supplied part joins. I had a go at adding one of the steps on my floor by doubling the floors up and cutting out notches for the side panels to keep them at the same level. I also had to file down the pilots seat bases and the attachment pips to keep them at the correct height. There is a picture on the previous page.

If I can by of any assistance with any other measurements, or photographs, please let me know.

Many thanks Trimotor.

This will be helpful. I need to know also the big external diameter and small external diameter of the cone, and the length of the cone. I need this because I've to adapt the two floors cockpit to the cone. I need to design the cone, and after that fit the cockpit inside. This is the only way to know the available space and give to the cockpit floor the right shape and size.

Thanks!

Here are some pictures of the cone, passage tube and included floor as fitted. If you have a drawing program like paint or similar, draw lines on the photographs of the dimensions you need, give them identifers (i,ii,iii,iv etc) and I will measure them for you.

I put the pencil mark on this one (Above) as I recon that it would be around there that the cockpit wall would sit with the larger Empire Strikes Back set side instrument panels.

The cockpit floor slots into the two channels you can see here.

My broadband has been cutting in and out all day, it cut out while I was uploading and I had to use the auto save feature. If you click on the bit that says attachment it should open up the actual image.

When I click on the attachment writing I can see the pictures ok. Must be what happens when you reload auto saved pictures!

It doesn't work. I've made click before posting and nothing comes out, only the error message from the server.

Their buildmillenniumfalcon.com website seems to be gone and now it takes you to the regular model website. Maybe it's being re-done for international launch

Every time I try it is just takes me to http://www.model-space.com/us/

I wonder if it not available in the US ?????????????

Tried searching through Google as well. It brings up the Falcon site as #1 but when I click on it I get taken to the model-space page.

Odd???????????????

Ah, ok, maybe it only works for me because it is linked to my account in some way? Sorry.

I am going out to the ice hockey shortly so I will re post the pics for you when I get back. Will be around 10:30pm UK time.

They have some trouble with their website. I contacted them two weeks ago because I couldn't log on to my account and they replied that they were fixing things at the moment. I can log on now but there's still some bugs apparently.

Are you making a cone available that can be used with the existing De Agostini Cockpit interior?

Can you share what colours you used on the turret guns please? I've been putting painting them off but your look right to me.
