Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

I'm not aiming to copy the actual miniature as used but looking to incorporate additional detail as seen on the full size set. As anyone who's seen the cockpit on any of the miniatures, they don't really hold up to close scrutiny....

I thought as much, it's an interesting idea as that's the idea I had. Make the outside like the 32 inch, make the inside like the set. Please keep posting here for me ( and others I'm sure) I'm really interested in what you are doing. What's your view on re scribing the panel corners on the outside?

I'm not certain on the rescribing yet as it's something I could probably live with....depends on how accurate the rest of it turns out to be....

Yup I'm nervous in case I cock it up. Having said that if I get on it quick I can probably get a spare

Thanks Chiefhawk for the vid. Interesting that the different panels are coming out of the factory in different shades. The cynic in me says its not done on purpose. But that might be a good thing.

I imagine the Falcon has had a rough life, panels replaced over time, nothing matching. But when you put them all together.....they work. I think my plan will be to slightly repaint the panels as they come in, but my trick will be to re mix a fresh batch of grey every time. That way no two panels will be 100% the same but will blend in over all. It will be close, but will also give it a 'patchwork' kind of feel.

I hope that makes sense.

It's eclectic :)

I just got a package from the UK ,parts 2,3, 1 is still on the way.
Man this thing is going to be HUGE:D

I just got nr. 2 and 3 in the mail, still waiting for nr. 1. I must join in on the HUGE comments. I'm really excited about this. I live in Denmark so i had to get a UK address through forward2me. A bit expensive ): but I have to have this.

Hi all,
Started modifying stuff for my build, these are the only pictures I have taken so far. I began by giving both the passenger seats a quick black wash, then noticed one of them has a tan colour so this was added with another wash, followed by another very wet black. I have also lowered the arms on this chair and will be doing that to the other one too. As can be seen in the second image I have rounded the square base, but keeping it so I can still use the as supplied mounting point.

Oh almost forgot, I have also shaped the tops of these seats to be more in keeping with the real shape, and using a micro dill to put a little indent in the middle top, filled with white for now but will be dirtied up.

Hopefully get some more pictures taken soon, great seeing everyone's builds.

Gareth

I for one don't believe that the panel variations are intentional. I think it's a vendor issue and it makes me a little nervous. For the price they should at least be able to get a consistent color. I just hope it gets addressed and people who have already gotten the problem panels are give a chance to exchange for corrected ones. If the concept is that anyone can build this a get a decent replica then unintentional panel variations are a poor start.

Mine do not have variation, and the weathering is consistent , I'll post a shot later

Part 4 and 5 just landed on the mat. Lovely use of a plastic bag for issue 5 parts. Im going to have to open it all now to check the parts arn't damaged.

Heres a couple of paint tests i did on the quad gun ..

Personally i think a mix of both would enable the best result.

Yep I totally agree. I need to double check on lucasfilm reference just to be sure as its easy to follow the rout that you might think is right n your own mind,

It's chefhawk by the way not chiefhawk. I'm no chief but I'm a fairly competent chef... ;-))

Cheers
