Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

I haven't pulled the trigger yet on subscribing here in Australia but I am closely watching a couple of collections that will ensure I don't have to subscribe until late next year.

I'm not sure if they have the same offers where you are as in the western hemisphere, but if they do, wait for a $1 shipping special.

I'm confused. Are you saying the mandibles are both copies of only one side? Are you saying that you have one side only and placed it on both sides just for the drool factor? Or something else
Yep, drool factor only, the two sections in the photo are the upper and lower halves of one mandible. This week (77 in the uk), we get some of the side frames to join the two halves.:D

I finally got around to shooting the primer on the Shapeways TonyRR printed exhaust fans, grills and surrounds. Have to admit that the depth of the grills provides a little more character than the PE grills. Fit is perfect.

G'day jager1960. Not that it matters but, is that the port or starboard mandible?. Asking 'cause we're still a ways behind in Aus, and I was wondering if the assembly/fit, was difficult to 'mesh' ala some of the panel on frame stuff ( if screws on frame are tightened too much..). Nice work, please keep posting. Cheers. Ged.✌️

Hi Ged, its the starboard mandible and fit of the parts is very good. I always tighten the panel screws firmly but not too tight and have had no probs. If you tighten too much and the screw becomes loose a spot of super glue will sort it. The metal side frames are also a very precise fit and are held on with counter sunk headed screws, cheers, Steve.

Looking GREAT! Nice to see some shapes really starting to come together and glad to know that the fit is still good thus far. Thanks for keeping us up to date!

So is there any indication of interior hold fit at this time? I'm curious how much room below the hold floor there is for any service bay detailing. I'm afraid to do too much at this time only to find that it won't fit.

Kinda depends on what way you like building kits Scott, there,s a heck of a lot
of parts, screws etc in the Falcon. Then of course there,s the cost, 76 issues
costs around 680 uk sterling and there,s still 24 issues to come. (But ****, its worth it!) :D
I do a lot of building and painting of models, often large projects under time pressure. Although the laid-back approach of the drip-feed appeals I'm not sure I have the patience for a 2-year build.

I've just asked if they'll set my subscription to 8 issues a month. That could be a nice compromise.

paplooo;im trying to figure it out how the hell we gonna atach the other side.. screws are small and pain in the to put the normally ... so how we gonna do in inside?[/QUOTE said:
Odd that, the exact same thing was going through my mind too sir!:D
Once you attach the outer plating on one side it seems it would be impossible to attach
the opposing side plating using the same method... hmmm.:confused

Edit, possibly some kind of fitting where the screws would normally go to allow a snap fit?

Is there any news on the Deag reference painting photo's? Do we know if they are available yet or if not, when they will be available?

I just finished putting together the upper hull. I remember Steve Dymszo saying on one of his videos not to attach the upper turret or else it's really hard to put the magnetically held upper jaw box and plating into place. Has anyone found this to be the case? I know if I hold the turret on with my hand and try to put it on it doesn't really work, but that might be because I'm slightly changing the curve of the hull when I push down. I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with this? Thanks
