So I decided to tackle on my own Daft Punk Guy Manuel Helmet and mind you this is the second prop I have made, so please bear with me, I know it is not as good as many out there but here we go.

So I began with a simple cardboard model like how Volpin began, I made some blueprints of my own and began foaming it up!

So I'll just post some progress pictures very brief.

I cut out the plastic part of the visor and put it aside.
I dont have pictures on my flickr of the vacuum forming process for the visor, but anyway, I vacuum formed the visor, and sprayed it with VHT Niteshades, I might consider dying the visor next time.
Then the body of the helmet was painted with Automotive paint.
And then the cut visor piece was epoxy/hot glued into place.

Let me know what you guys think of my build! Any feedback will be taken positively :)

This is awesome!!!!! This is only the third el wire guy build I've ever seen!!!!!! I really like it. Great job!

Thanks, but as mentioned in the thread, I didn't get enough EL wire for it, however I ordered 30 feet of EL Wire (red) which will go on a new one I am making :)

Also, it seems as if a lot of people prefer Thomas' helmet.
However, I enjoy Guy's better, after all that is why I made it, haha!

maybe....................... Actually, I think guy's helmet has always been more popular than thomas' helmet. You have to realize too that the encore suits were only worn twice and everybody is used to seeing this bucket in shiny gold chrome.

Either way, I love your helmet!

True. I wore this around in halloween's eve. No one seemed to really know who I was, all they said was "Ohh! It lights up and strobes! Cool!" and I was just like
But I will be painting this one gold chrome once I have the money for it :)
