So I decided to tackle on my own Daft Punk Guy Manuel Helmet and mind you this is the second prop I have made, so please bear with me, I know it is not as good as many out there but here we go.
So I began with a simple cardboard model like how Volpin began, I made some blueprints of my own and began foaming it up!
So I'll just post some progress pictures very brief.
This is the finished starting model. by Fennec Props, on Flickr

I cut out the plastic part of the visor and put it aside.
I dont have pictures on my flickr of the vacuum forming process for the visor, but anyway, I vacuum formed the visor, and sprayed it with VHT Niteshades, I might consider dying the visor next time.
Then the body of the helmet was painted with Automotive paint.
And then the cut visor piece was epoxy/hot glued into place.
