Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan Gauntlet Weapon

I just bought a 7-11 cup and cut the cup out but the wrist weapon doesn't fit on my wrist. If anyone knows a legit solution please tell me!

Does it not go over your hand, or actually not fit over your wrist? I had a bear of a time getting my meat paw in there, but once over my hand, I had plenty of room for my wrist.

My solution was to add a hinge, and a simple pressure clasp. I put a foam cuff over my wrist, put it in the cup, and then close it. The compression keeps the cup from rotating.. just make sure you don't make such a thick foam cuff that it cuts of the circulation in your hand.

It doesn't go over my hand i have a huge hand for my age (13) but your right once it does get on it is very loose on my wrist. And how did you cut the cup in half? Thank you so much

It is already in two halves, just connected by four posts, two on each side. I used an exacto knife and cut the posts. Just be careful not to cut yourself, as it is easy for the knife to slip!

Lots of us have already done that... Check back a few pages to see some of the projects that have already been done :thumbsup

Edit: Not even a few pages back... at the top of this page :cool

Oh alright i think i will try it! I got one of the posts cut i used a box cutter not the easiest thing. Also i checked through the posts and i didn't find any of your work have you posted pictures yet or still working on it?

I'm still working on mine, but there are several others who posted up their pics... I will post mine for sure whenever I get to that point!

No.. everyone is using pipe insulation foam.. its already black. I posted wip images when I worked on mine... its at least a few pages back. Since you are doing much of what others here have done, go back at least 10 pages, and see what different people have done.. one method will appeal to you.

Also, you can just pop the thing open instead of cutting.. look at the posted pics of the innards, so you know where to gently apply the pressure until it pops the joints.

Also while its open, you'll want to open the battery covers, and then put them back (I used poster tack inside them to hold them in place better.) That way when the batteries eventually fail, you'll be able to replace them without tearing the whole thing apart.

The hinges I found were at Lowe's.. they are small, maybe an inch and a half wide at the most. (Instead of duplicating what I did, instead put the hinge on the inside, and the clasp on the outside.. it'll be slightly harder to put on, but it'll look better.

The Hud I did was just pleiglass, and the mount for it was just a small cut off clear tubing also from lowes. if you decide to add the HUD, check the scarp plexi lowes probably has. (You'll have to ask them.) They will sell that to you dirt cheap.

Someone else did the handle, but found that in use, it was very ackward, so he removed his the rest of the time. I opted not to add it because of that reason. This way I can still eat, drink, and shop comfortably with it on.
