Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan "Wanted" Poster

Hey everyone,

Mentioned this in the gauntlet weapon thread, but thought I would bring it here too.

I'm working on a replica of the "wanted" poster shown in the movie. I have a couple of screen caps from an iTunes feature that I am working off of. If anyone has any better images, feel free to post! I would also like to see if anyone more talented than myself wants to take a stab at this... I have *some* Photoshop skills, but by no means am I an expert!

Here are the caps I'm working with:

The fonts aren't correct, I can't seem to find any that are right... Plus, I haven't really figured out how to "feather" the edges of his portrait, to make it blend better. If anyone wants the PSD with layers to work on what I have already started, shoot me a PM!

BTW, the description reads:
"Age, 37 Height, 5 feet, 10 inches. Weight, 175 lbs. Lighter hair, blue eyes and strong features. He is wanted for Arson, Assault, Mayhem and Hijacking. His band of desperadoes robbed the Santa Fe Bullion Coach last month of $10,000 in gold. His accomplices in the robbery include Pat Dolan and Bill McCade."

Can't quite make out what it says before "Contact", might be "Quickly", but after that I'm assuming is "U.S. Marshal's Office"

I don't pry into his personal life. What he does is what he does.

A little hard to make out, but I believe it says "IMMEDIATELY CONTACT NEAREST U.S. MARSHAL'S OFFICE"

I was planning on going to see the movie again in the morning since I have the day off, and grab a couple of pics during that scene... May not have to now!

I think your right. I am pretty sure that is what is says. Good luck in your endeavor. The fonts you are using are a little off though have you tried dafont.com?

You could use that pic of his face as well since it's pretty straight forward.

So I basically scrapped what I had, and started over using the new screencap as my reference...

What do you think?

I feel pretty good about this one!

Edit: After sleeping on it, I'm not completely satisfied with the mugshot... I'm going to tinker around with that before I call it quits

Here is my take:

But, if you are making a prop, I think it is better to use a high-quality printout, and do all the aging, staining, or special paper in the real world. With that in mind, here is a plain B&W version for you to print on cool paper.

Good work! After seeing the movie again, I got a better look at the poster... One of the accomplices is actually "Bull" and not "Bill" McCade.

I redid the mugshot portion and made some other adjustments, and I will reup in a little bit

I actually sent myself the Cowboys and Aliens telegram that was offered a few weeks back. It looks great.

As soon as I saw this thread i knew i had to try my hand at the wanted poster.

Here's a picture of my effort. Did a little aging on the text and printed on 8.5" x 11" yellow paper stock. Of course I didn't noticed the typo until after I printed the darn thing out. (Insert slapping forehead smiley here) :lol
