Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan Gauntlet Weapon

Look at the pics previously posted of the electronics.. you can see where the mounting posts are.

With a small screwdriver, pry up near them gently, until it pops up. Once they are all popped, you could actually just reseat it with electric tape on top to hold it down.

You just want to be careful not to damage the wireing under the covers.

Thanks guys!
I'm using a combination of metallic and translucent automotive paints to color it.
Keeping my fingers crossed on the results.
Should have more pics soon.
Here's a link to the build thread if anyone is interested:

The most difficult part of propmaking is stitching together the screencaps, searching for decent pics of the actual prop, and figuring out measurements/scale. I didn't have any plans to build this prop, but I think it is growing on me. Great build! Great research! This one is going to be awesome! Thank you (everyone, not just Mutant-Enemy) for showing your work. :thumbsup :cheers :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I suppose I could pick a couple up for you too... have to visit the post office tomorrow anyways! PM sent

Finally I get two of the cups. :thumbsup

I start making the display on the top.

What do you think ???

with some better screencaps it will be more SA but its definately a good start.

Good idea using the blue marker so it can be better seen during the day! Think I'll borrow that idea!

I looks like you are using something thin.. if you are adding lights for it like I did, you actually want something thicker, so the cuts pick up the light.

Also, the final movie version was different than the trailer. I stuck with the trailer version, but if you go back a few pages, you'll see screen caps of the final version. (It have a "V" shape instead.)

Has anyone got any contact details for Ares5000????

I sent him $78 paypal payment for 4 cups over a month a go and have hurd nothing back he seams to be advoiding my emails and PM's

I'm starting to feel like I have been mugged off,

If anyone can get a message to him for me to get in contact that would be great
I really wanted these before the movie launch to sort out my costume

I had good contact with him a few weeks ago.. there are a lot of Cons going on this month (SDCC, Pax and Dragoncon) It could be he is knee deep in them.

I was going to get some from him, but needed them sooner than he could provide them, so I had a freind in Florida snag some for me faster.

Thanks gareee

He said he was going sdcc but will post them after the con

But it's the lack of contact that's worrying me

I hear ya.. sdcc has been over for some time now. I wonder if he caught some sdcc funk? A lot of people get sick after large gatherings like that.

Megacon hit me hard last year.

Con crud
I was warned about it when I was at DCon last year,

Lucky i'm a guy that washes evey day, LOL

sorry to take it off topic,

Oh, we do as well. I got hit with some nasty bug that hung on for two months, and ended up putting me in the hospital last year. I guess I should stop licking Slave Leias.

Hey all,

I was wondering if it would be feasible for anyone to overnight a cup to me (living in Georgia)?

/sob story

I perhaps rather foolishly decided to do a last minute costume for Dragon*Con. The very first thing I did was order two of these cups to make the gauntlet (as I knew that was the most crucial component). I didn't know about this thread though, and got them on ebay. Paid the seller and they were supposedly shipping out on the 17th. I waited the 2-5 business days. When I contacted the seller, he assured me they would arrive this weekend. Nothing.

I've basically obtained all other pieces of the costume (including hand-sewn chaps and a vest made by my GF), but I've pretty much run out of time. I would hate for all this time and effort to go to waste. Without the gauntlet though...I would just be a cowboy..

If I could get a cup in the next couple days though, I'm confident my roommate (a modeler) could put together a quick-and-dirty job to at least make something wearable in time for the con next weekend.

Can anyone help?
