Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan Gauntlet Weapon

I would just go straight white. In my experience with the Tron discs, the white LEDs have a hint of blue in it when photographed.

For example:

Wow! Good point.
How many LED's have you got in your disc?
I got to check out the original's down at Rick G's shop...very cool!

Hmmm.. wonder if I should redo my hud plexiglass then? I kind of liked the original as well though. That final cut cap almost looks like it has lit up antennas.

@soulinertia- cool. Rick told me they used over 100 in the movie discs but I didn't get a look at the insides so was wondering how you would go about lighting so many LED's in such a small space and have them be REALLY bright to boot. I'm still learning the finer points of wiring...

Yeah, the gauntlet HUD was quite a bit different in the actual movie than what was shown originally at comic con and in the trailer.

Comparison: (I actually like the original version better, looks like they went a little more low-key and organic for the final look.)

Strange, hate when they make changes, from the original stuff or show you something and it never in the movie! :rolleyes

You guy's blasters look awesome! I've looked at three different 7-elevens though, and i haven't been lucky enough to find one of the special cups. I'll look around for more later. I just wanted to tell y'all nice jobs!

So i called a 7-eleven, and they have three left, should I get two? i don't really see a need, but what do you think?

EDIT: So i went, and they had waay more than 3, about 15, so if there's anyone in the Dallas area, The 7-11 in Coppell is all stocked up! :D

North Frisco has a good amount too!

Yay Texas!
So, whats the best way of separating the cup from the gauntlet? I was popping the pegs holding the gauntlet together, but I noticed I was messing up the plastic a bit. Should I continue, or sacrifice the cup?

Kill the cup!
If you can shear off the cup bottom, then slide a long thin screwdriver between them, pop the plastic rivets, and push the cup into the center area. A pair of vice grips works as well to twist / crush the cup into itself.
Jusat go slow and don't bugger up the gauntlet.

I agree with cutting the bottom off, but I took it a step further and cut the cup from top to bottom inside the gauntlet so I could literally "roll" the cup onto itself and slide it out

I used a heat gun.. I softened the sides, and the bottom naturally softened at the same time. Then I folded the cup in upon itself with a twisting motion, and then just pulled the cup out.

And the reason some people buy two is to take the light up portions of two cups and put them together for a gauntlet with led lights at the top and bottom.
