Coollekotten's Art

Xdmray - do what you see is best. ;)

Aaah, another drawing of my never ending concept of the female Viking predator. When will it end?!
Nothing special really, just a quick drawing of a few ideas that I had and wanted to try out. I also wanted to try a different style but not sure if that shows... nope, it doesnt show.
And there is underboob in the pic! :D Good heavens, what made me draw that?! I have been contemplating alot whether or not I should use armor on both sides of the chest area or not, I really like the armor on one side like P1 has, but then the right boob would show. So I put some cloth there to cover it up.

I have not decided what to do yet, Im still experimenting. Come to think of it, I have been "experimenting" on her for about 2 years now... :D wow. How bad am I at deciding things? But there is just so many ideas and designs to use, how could I ever pic one or two?! Sigh, at least she will have a big wardrobe, I guess.

If you are wondering about the female head with stripes, she is not done yet. I am kind of stuck when it comes to her forehead and crown. Im not sure what to use. I would not like to have stripes there too because I think it would be too much. I have tried spots but that didnt look right to me, also a patter like the P2 looked wonky. Any ideas? Maybe just leave it very bright would work?

Oh, and if the images are too large (long time to upload) please let me know and I will see what I can do to lesser their size.

i actually realy dig that bio for a female.i think someone should sculpt it!!!like how the eyes are small and feminine and smooth curves in the cheeks.very nice!

Thank you guys I appreciate it!
Silverback, I will take your ideas and might come up with something. :D I have changed the female version of a pred face many times.
Biofreak, I basically took the P1 bio and did two pointy ends on the chin and added the ornaments on the head because of the theme - viking. But I think its suits her perfectly, I also used that style of bio on this next picture I did. :D Thanks!

If you liked the last vikingpred I posted, I think you gonna like this one too! ;) Sorry though for the photo, I did the best I could with what I had. I also wrote a little story to it.

"And there it was, lifeless and still, blood pouring out of its body after the heated but short battle.
She stood beside the dead bear with its head locked in her fist, her claws clutching the fur.
Silence surrounded the slayer. The forest seemed empty and scared of her bare presence.
But she would not stay long.
No rest for the hunter.
No rest... for the hunted."

Hope you all like! :D

nice work as always, you put sooo much detail in them!
if you ever get around to building a suit, you are going to have a really hard time deciding between all the accessories.
one thing though, i gotta say, her feet are bothering me. but everything else is top notch. absolutely!

I know! :D Are the feet too small perhaps? I was not happy with them either, but I can always erase and do them over again. Think it's the toes... hm.
And yes, I will have a hell of a time choosing accessories. Her wardrobe will be HUGE. But thats always fun, you know. Scott/Bovine and his ceremonial suit is highly detailed and has accessories here and there and it works like a charm so hopefully I will succeed also... hopefully. ;)
My plan is to create a suit, yes. But it will take some time, have to get a job first, income etc. but no rush! Patience is a virtue.

Thank you Mr. Fett for that comment! I might be a bit late on the 'thank you' part, but nonetheless. If anyone wants to sculpt anything that I draw, just ask first.

So I thought it was time to update this gallery of mine that has been very quiet lately. I cleaned up the first post and removed four drawings, these can still be found in my DA gallery, the link you will find in my sig as always. :D
But what person would I be if I did not have a drawing to post also? So here you go:

I think Im getting pretty close to how I want her to look, but Im not making any promises. :p
This is done on A3 because I wanted to try drawing on a bigger scale with the details I do. Her hand might be on the larger side, I see that now, but when I drew it I wanted a lower perspective of her, as if she was alot taller then the viewer. Not sure I succeeded on that behalf but at least I tried.

Hope you like, take care :)

I. Love. This. You did a phenomenal job Nicole...this is amazing. The Bio itself is most awesome! Its feminine and yet still retains the P1 style. Very cool. Going to go back now and stare at all those details...

...and yes you did the perspective perfectly!

Now that is cool! I can see alot of time and effort goes into your artwork. I am impressed by your work ( aswell as others ). Do you use reference like figures, images or do you just go with what you come up with? Like to see more.

OVER 8000 VIEWS!!

Thank you very much for the kind words! (A little late I know)
I have grown more fond of the P1 bio lately, and I find it perfect to make small changes to to create a more feminine look. I rather like this design on her, I wont say its the final one, but I dont have the need to draw a new one. I want to start on something else and rest the vikingpredator for a little while. :)

Dracon, I mix, usually. Sometimes I need a pose or something to get going, other times a reference of a head or armor triggers ideas. If I want to do something more "accurate" then I use reference for sure. Looking at reference pictures helps to understand the structure of the item in question. But it does not always work out when I have traced outlines of a pose (from a figure or so) onto paper. I just cant draw, get an artblock, and erase the whole thing and start fresh instead with a blank paper. Then I draw with no problem, so it varys from time to time. ;)

And gah! Do you guys know what I have forgotten to draw on the latest pic? I noticed it just a few days ago...

... the netting. I forgot the netting! Gah! Oh well, I guess it doesnt matter.
Have a nice week everyone, thanks for looking. :)

Mih mih miiih....

I wanted to draw the scene when the predator lifts Arnold up against the tree and scans him. So I started tracing out the bio for him but it did not look right. This was frustrating, so I erased it... and I took the decision to draw the predator without his bio on. Still the same pose and all, but without his helmet.

And no, the shoulder cannon is not correct, I know that. When I looked for reference pictures of the P1 I realised how little images I have on him. But the P2 I have loads of. Its more of a sketch anyway... but I think it came out all right.

Hope you like the update.

I know! Are the feet too small perhaps? I was not happy with them either, but I can always erase and do them over again. Think it's the toes... hm.

Little tip: Put your foot up to your forearm; it should be the same length...

Love your artwork! Absolutely amazing "sketches" (Ah, another humble Pred). Would love to see someone convert one of these to a sculpt for you...

Glad I could help

Actually, if you really want to pop your head about physical relationships, try and find The Power of Limits at a bookstore and have a flip through it. Very cool book to have in the library...

And while we're on the topic of proportions, you may find this Synopsis of Leonardo's Vitruvian Man interesting (Sure, it's Wiki, but it has some good sources to follow)...

Ok, go back to "sketching"...

You've been a busy little beaver doing all these drawings! Makes me want to draw now! I'm impressed that you drew the P1...very well done Nicole!

Darth Pinhead, thanks for the advice! I have looked through that book and it looks very interesting and useful, think I might have to pick it up after christmas. I need to practice on lenghts and sizes and so on, so it will be helpful indeed.

And thank you, Jason, for the kind words! I believe that, that drawing is actually the first I have done of the P1... ;) I have done P2, the P2 Elder twice, Snake and... nope, no P1 before this. Hm, I should do a better one on him, gonna scout for pictures and see what I can find.
I've been a busy beaver indeed, and if you feel like drawing - then do it, DO IT NAOW! COME ON, DO IT! :)

Oh believe me I do, but this time of year is far too busy for me. Between work, family, shopping, Xmas parties, staff parties, working overtime, and all the other stuff I just don't have the time. I do however have some sketches planed out for stuff I'm going to be working on - in Jan sometime
