Hey guys,
just a quick message to let you know that the new batch of stainless steel version scanner parts should be ready in around a week or so;
In the meantime, I have restocked the small threaded cones as they sold out last week!
There are also still 14 aluminium version of the scanner parts available on my website, as well as 8 binocs parts for anyone interested!
cheers

Hey there!

I'm done with the machining and hand cleaning on the new clamps! I'm very happy with the result, I have to say that they are even better than the ones from the first run! I went the extra mile for the cleaning and also finally figured out how to get that M3 threading to go all the way in that small hole on the other side of the slot! small detail but difficult one to manage!
so, those are ready for the chemical threatment:

the Stainless steel parts themselves are done with the turning, but need the holes done!

cheers!

alright, more good news for the second batch, the clamps came out looking perfect from the chemical bath! very whitish!

here is comparison with one I had to wire wool again to take a new bath as it came out with a tiny shiny spot on it. we can really see the difference with/without chemical bath!

alright, additionaly, I have something exciting as well if some people are interested!
I found a few vintage connectors, including some Amphenol ones. I'm not even saying those are the ones that were used, I'm not even sure we can really say what part they used. But, I have converted one for a friend today and it looks awesome! I want to offer the possibility to 3 more people to get a converted vintage Amphenol connector for his Hoth binocs!

I'll not put those on my website as they are so limited and a bit special, so, first 3 that say here they want one get one!

Full assembly with aluminium clamp: 99€
if you already have a clamp from me and want to replace my aluminium replica insert only, 70€

4 amphenol connectors on the left and the converted one on the right:

converting a connector!

first step, turning a tube to fit the connector in my clamp and have the bottom "lip":

step 2, turning down the top of the connector:

step 3, turning a new insert part that goes at the top of the connector:

the result on the full part after putting some diluted alu black on the top alu part! (this one was not an amphenol and it was darker, so the result will differ slightly)

(look at that nice tit in the middle of the hole Markus! ;-) this one is drilled instead of being two parts, so there is a tit!)

if 3 more people want that, just say so here and I'll make it happen in the next few days for you!
cheers

I somehow missed all of this but I'm placing an order on your website right now. I'm excited to add these parts to my scanner and binocs.
Thanks so much for doing this! - Jared

Bumping this!
still a few of the converted amphenol connectors above and plenty of the aluminium, stainless steel scanner parts and hoth binocs part available on my website!

Bumping this, stainless steel and aluminium versions of the scanner parts left in stock, a couple binocs version as well, and contact me directly if you are interested in the converted vintage binocs clamps :)

I am very pleased w/ my replica split clamp/ Amphenol connector I got 2 months ago.
No mill marks nor chatter on the parts, which you sometimes get from other people.
