Coollekotten's Art

Oh My Gosh!, how do you get all these ideas for bios and designs for the faces?
i would love to know where you get your insperation from, and love to see the
step by step procceses, keep up the great work!

Thanks, Lee.
Haha, yeah streamlined features makes sense actually. I changed just a liiiiiitle bit on the eyebrow, thinned the jawline and shortened the forehead. Not sure about the teeth yet so have not begun on them yet.

Hope you like the update.
This is SICK!!! Very awesome pattern you have going there CoolleKotten. I myself have been thinking of a pattern similar to this one. Very pretty.

Thank you all for the kind words! It gets me going and moving forward with my drawings, its very appreciated. Even critics are welcome.
TokyoRose - Thanks, but that drawing is not even finished yet, you're too kind!
Dracon - a step by step process is always good for me to do. Sometimes you just get blind of your own stuff (especially if you are staring at it for hours) and taking a photo and putting it up online and get tips is very helpful, also to see it in another way.
Xdmray - if a center nose trilaser is harder to make (or wont work) then I can change and put it on "the usual" place and just use those three holes as decorative.

I get my inspiration from... well, everywhere and everything really! Looking at other peoples conceptart can give you inspiration and boost you imagination. Sometimes just watching a movie and seeing someones clothes, car or wallpapers triggers ideas (yes, Im wierd). Or just think "I wanna do a samuraj inspired predator" for example, then just have a look around on how samurajs dressed, how did their armor look like, designs etc. I even saw a spot ones and thought it looked like a witch riding a broom upsidedown. It's just imagination and fantasy, use it!

Thanks again everyone!

well in your first drawing, Mr giggles was really low tech, i kinda liked that. so actually a tri laser is not necessary in my eyes. i still think the placement works though.

definitely love the "nostrils" and groove between the eyes though.

Xdmray - do what you see is best. ;)

Aaah, another drawing of my never ending concept of the female Viking predator. When will it end?!
Nothing special really, just a quick drawing of a few ideas that I had and wanted to try out. I also wanted to try a different style but not sure if that shows... nope, it doesnt show.
And there is underboob in the pic! Good heavens, what made me draw that?! I have been contemplating alot whether or not I should use armor on both sides of the chest area or not, I really like the armor on one side like P1 has, but then the right boob would show. So I put some cloth there to cover it up.

I have not decided what to do yet, Im still experimenting. Come to think of it, I have been "experimenting" on her for about 2 years now... ;) wow. How bad am I at deciding things? But there is just so many ideas and designs to use, how could I ever pic one or two?! Sigh, at least she will have a big wardrobe, I guess.

If you are wondering about the female head with stripes, she is not done yet. I am kind of stuck when it comes to her forehead and crown. Im not sure what to use. I would not like to have stripes there too because I think it would be too much. I have tried spots but that didnt look right to me, also a patter like the P2 looked wonky. Any ideas? Maybe just leave it very bright would work?

Oh, and if the images are too large (long time to upload) please let me know and I will see what I can do to lesser their size.

Very nice Nicole. As for the other one with stripes, I think you should continue using as many stripes as possible and then maybe a P2-type spot pattern?

But it didnt work, trust me! It looked really... bad. Im not sure why but it just didnt fit along with the stripes. Maybe I just did it wrong... will try again. ;)

Xdmray, thank you!
I wanted to have some kind of armor there with also a hint of the viking theme and then it hit me; why not have leather with carvings? So I did that... but the carvings doesnt show AT ALL in that pic. I got to buy myself a scanner... But Im still working with the design on that area, so I guess it will show up a bit changed next time you see her, but it is for sure a keeper.
I see myself holding on to a couple of things and throwing away others, and the leather armor works so I'll keep that for now. I will also hold on to some chain mail and Im thinking of using P2 legarmor actually, I think it will work along with her style. P1 legarmor is not her style. But P2 is a bit more... her, I guess. So whoever makes P2 legarmor, I guess I will give you a shout when money comes my way!

And about the female with stripes... should I post up a I-seriously-need-help pic of her? Maybe that could generate some ideas, opinions or just plain brain meltdown in my case... anyway,

everyone, take care and have a lovely weekend! :D

WHOA!!! all of these are really good, great concepts too. Keep up the great job, you got lots of talent!

These are outstanding Nicole! Your P2 is phenom!!...then again they all are. My talent in drawing is to say, well, lacking. Your artwork gives me inspiration to give it a go :D You could open up a gallery totally devoted to everything Pred! I would travel to come to it! Keep up the fantastic work....Would love to see a drawing of your cat and putting him in his own cat Bio?

Strange, Tusky and Lancer44 - THANK YOU, GUYS!!
Happy to hear that even I can give some inspiration to you fellows. :D You here are what keeps me going further with the predators.
Lancer44, one can always put down a pencil but you will never leave it for good. Haha! Good to hear that you choose to pic it up again.
My cat is actually a she and I can tell you, she doesnt need a bio to become a predator! I have no clue how many birds she caught this summer but damn it got quiet outside for awhile! I have two cats actually, both female. And one male dog who knows only one trick; roll over to his back with a scratch-me-belly-or-I-wont-move look on his face.

Thanks again everyone, take care!

roll over to his back with a scratch-me-belly-or-I-wont-move look on his face. :D

Yea...that's true for all of us human guys as well. Keep up the great drawings. Looking forward to seeing more. (...and don't tell your cat I accidently called her male. We'll keep that b/w us

I have now UPDATED SOME PICTURES with scanned versions. These can be seen in the first post. Among these are:
Snake, old and new vikingpred, shaman pred and Mr Giggles in battle armor. I also updated a pic with alot of bios that can be seen in the gallery of my DA (link in sig). Snake looks so much better now.
Hopefully you can make out some more details then before. Enjoy!

WOw den där var riktigt jävla grym! =) Keep up the good work!
translation:"wow that one was ****ing awesome!" :)

You have some really amazing concepts, the way you run with your ideas and then put them on paper is amazing.

Thank you all for the kind words!
And Munson, if you only knew how many ideas I have sketched but not used... some of them I see right away that they wont work physically, but it looks so cool in the sketches. But with some reworking a few usually end up here and there in some of my drawings.
I have a couple of ideas right now that Im trying to work out. It involves a spine... ribs... and a leg. Will sketch further and see how it goes.

Take care everyone!

Great artwork... to give more of a feminine appearance, try making the jaw a little less square. One more suggestion.... think about the animal kingdom, typically males have more flashy appearances (ie: peacocks, lions etc) why don't you try making the skull of the female a little smaller too, leave the flashy crowns to the males to attract mates and what not.

Just my .02
