(Comic Con and Iron Man III Mk VIII pics pg 5) Stealth Iron Man w/ automated helmet

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI build using robo3687 files

Wow that is an amazing job you are doing, I'm in the process of building mine too, since I'm new I can start my own thread, you inspired me to try to build the helm myself...question I'm using the same file as you. I measure my head and is 23.5 around, what scale did you use so I can have a reference before I print it....

Thanks in advance man!!!

Great job....

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI build using robo3687 files

I suggest building the tester helmet and checking that out. That's what I did. I used default scale. It also depends on how the helmet warps after you fiberglass and resin the helmet. It's best if you build the tester helmet, then work from there. Took me a good hour to finish the tester helmet. Not too long.

I absolutely love the blue color, it looks awesome! Can't wait to see some more progress shots.

Got side tracked with a foam build... once I'm done with the bells and whistles, it's back to the stealth build...

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI build using robo3687 files

Wow, this suit is absolutely amazing so far.

I've started making the helmet as well (fiberglass version) and I want to know at what point did you separate the faceplate/chin/backpiece from the main helmet, and how? Was it after glassing and before the bondo was applied? or after the bondo and all the sanding was done?

Thanks for the inspiration, I've been taking pictures of my work so far and will start a thread soon. I plan on doing the whole suit.

Check out projectearth's thread. He probably has the most detailed helmet build thread.

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI build using robo3687 files

Looking forward to seeing what this looks like when it's done. I like that you're using a different color scheme, and that blue looks great!

Thank you sir... I'm busting my butt trying to finish this before San Diego Comic Con. Lot's of body filler and sanding left....

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI Hybrid Build

Oh man, that's looking killer!! Really great stuff!

Re: Stealth Iron Man MKVI Hybrid Build

I've always wondered how the editors explained having a stealth suit when he could go invisible before and it made him sick ;)
