Just have a quick question. Sorry if I missed it in the threads. Is this your first time ever doing anything like this? Do you have any kind of experience? I am about to start an Iron Man build.

Zero experience what so ever before this hahah. Honestly you have to be willing to lose a lot of money experimenting and making mistakes. Nobody's build will be perfect the first time around. I even ending up scrapping the first piece I ever made cause after I made all the other pieces I decided the first cod I made wasn't good enough. Good luck dude.

Ah my build is okay. There are a lot of better builds out there. Thanks man and good luck finishing your Mk III!

Well just plain awesome job on your build man. I'm gonna start on the helmet decided to do a Mk III. I have one more question. On some of the pep parts they run off the edge and take like 2 pieces of card stock. Is this ok? Do I just piece them together? Thanks for any help you can give. Ohh got a silhouette Cameo on the way. Found one for $200. Couldn't pass it up since I plan on doing several builds once I know the ropes.

Thanks man. No it's not okay. The cutter won't cut it. Use pep designer to rearrange your parts. You can disjoin pieces and rotate the around. I had to spend a lot of time doing that before using the cutter.

Ok. The pieces are so big. They take 2 full pieces of stock. Even if I rotate them they will still not fit. I guess I have to scale them down then? The pieces are on the chest of the Mk III. They look like straps that go across the back side of the chest to hold its shape.

Hey man I was wanting to know how good the silhouette cutters are. I have a cameo on the way. How long do the blades and mats last? Is one of each enough to cut out an entire Iron Man?

It's good? I don't know what else to tell you. The mat you will probably need to buy some repositional spray adhesive once the stick runs out. Just google some forums for the cutter. I'm no expert on it so it's probably better to read the craft forums on the cutter. It's what I did to find the spray adhesive trick.

Thanks for the reply but that did not answer my question about the life of the blade. I did tootle and search I was looking for an honest opinion from someone who has used it before.

I took 2 minutes on google and found multiple resources on how long a blade lasts. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I just want you to be able to help yourself instead of quickly firing questions out that possibly has been answered elsewhere.

If you're worried, buy some spare blades as back-up. I have 2 blades as back-up in case something goes wrong. You never know what might happen.

Well I did that and was unable to find anything reliable. I was just wanting your word because I have seen what you have accomplished. I am a total newb to this and am very interested in completeing a build for myself. Thanks

Re: (Comic Con and Iron Man III Mk VIII pics pg 5) Stealth Iron Man w/ automated helm

the blades apparently last 6 months, honestly from what i've read you could possibly cut out 2 suits with 1 blade...
