Chronicle / Efx Mandalorian prop replicas

How did you get both a response and a replacement so quickly?? Did you have to send the other one back?

I emailed Bryan on 6/15 immediately after seeing the cracks. He actually responded the same day. They sent me a shipping label on 6/22 and told me to only ship back the helmet and keep all the other stuff. I shipped it back the next day and since they are about 2 hours away (SD to LA) they got it the next day. I emailed Bryan weekly and he responded every time on the same day!! (Yes I was in shock) I emailed him yesterday and he responded with the tracking number and it arrived today!

That's amazing man! Maybe EFX is trying to turn things around.

Didn't you have a similar situation with the Kylo lightsaber from Prop Shop?

I did!! I got super lucky with the propshop saber because they shutdown while I was waiting for my replacement. I was nervous they were just going to refund me. But luckily I got the replacement saber.

I regretted passing up the Kylo and Rey Replicas. The last LE licenced lightsabers we've gotten until Dark Side Rey, which is an odd choice to make.

So after I did the video I noticed that my helmet had some of the cracks that people are discovering. Mine had a couple around the visor. I emailed Bryan and he was surprisingly very responsive. My replacement came today (about 3 weeks from my initial email)

The first thing I noticed was that it was painted different. The weathering was more subtle and spread out. It didn’t have the weathered circles on the cheeks. Instead the weathering was more spread out all throughout the cheeks. When shining a light on it, you can see that it’s still heavily weathered but the colors were more subtle in some parts. Also, the back plate wasn’t as “gold” as my last one. (Edit) It does have the wonky Mohawk lines like my original but not as noticeable. Overall I’m happy with the replacement. I do wish it was weathered a bit darker but at this point it seems like it’s a crap shoot on what you get.

So the theory may be true? The first waves had molding and paint job errors? Interesting

The paint on the new one definitely looks more “glittery” than the first. They also skipped a few weathering layers on the new one. But like I mentioned, it’s a crap shoot so I guess I got lucky it wasn’t cracked.

That's right, it shows in your pictures. But did you keep the same serial number or did EFX give you another one?

The best picture for ear detail. I am reassured about EFX's job, for this point. (y)

I'm going to have to try this, I have gotten nothing but silence on both parts through official channels at this point.

If you look at other photos in this thread, as well as any scene of the Mando in motion.. you’ll see there is a sharp highlight there. That’s on every helmet. EFX’s ear is objectively wrong.

Don’t mean to come at you specifically man, and apologies if it comes across like that. I just don’t understand the discussion and debate around these helmets. Things that are confirmed, and also clear as day in photos such as the ear and vent highlights, the upper cheeks being painted with a metallic and matte clear, the black paint being over the clear coat.. we can see this stuff. I just don’t understand the arguments around it.

I received my efx Mandalorian helmet. It appears I got a good one. A few minor flaws, but I don't see cracks or badly wavy lines on the mohawk. It has a flaw on the right ear.

Below are photos. The photos with two helmets have the Anovos on the left and the efx on then right. The detail photos at the bottom are the efx.

Just got my helmet in today. At first glance, I thought I had gotten one that was in perfect condition. Upon closer inspection, there were 3 cracks in 3 different spots: on top of the visor and a crack on both sides of the back grill. Quite disappointed, since I was really happy with the weathering.

You must contact the customer service, because this is not acceptable. Even with minor defects, it‘s not normal to get this.

Figures that they seem to have really stepped up their game in the quality of the weathering on this 2nd round of helmets only to drop the ball again with all these hairline cracks!

ouch...I figured I was one of the few with cracks but looks like its going to be an ongoing issue.

How were the helmets that have cracks packaged? I'm wondering if this latest batch could have been damaged in shipping since as far as I'm aware none in the first batch had cracks.

Unfortunately, I think there were also cracks on some of the helmets from the first wave.

gabe3666 received his helmet, which was from the first batch. And already there were problems with cracks.
