Chronicle / Efx Mandalorian prop replicas

If we want to look at previous helmets to predict quality of the efx Mando, I would say the efx Scout is more likely to come from the same factory.

Good point...but if they where really so stupid to use this factory again....my god.

EFX isn’t a reputable company. How many years waiting for a vacuum formed biker scout helmet? And their communications are horrible. I’m STILL out of pocket for the Thor helmet. Never got it or a refund. This I only purchased through Chronicle because they had a money back guarantee if EFX didn’t deliver.

I bought mine from Chronicle as well and it has been received.. I am still awaiting the pre order Vader Pyre from EFX

Finally! I finally got my helmet! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my copy. The paint is in perfect condition, I have no cracks, no off-center mandibles, no fingerprints or gross molding errors (maybe just, a very small line of the mohawk that is slightly deviated in the middle...but it's almost invisible to the eye). I am therefore, reassured.

Note that, I was in the second shipping wave and my helmet has the number 046/750...so the numbers should not follow each other in the shipping order.

Here are some quick pictures taken with my smartphone (I'll make better ones later)

Received my Mando helmet on Friday. Looks great except for two hairline cracks, one about an inch long on the lower part of the right cheek. I've emailed Chronicle but I'm honestly not sure what to do...the mandibles on this one are straight, the visor is straight, weathering looks good and that inch long hairline crack is only noticeable if you're looking right at it with direct light....it's just a bummer to pay for something and then have these issues I guess.

You lot know much more than I do, since there doesn't seem to be a lot of pressure being applied where the hairline crack is (lower right cheek) if I kept the helmet...would the crack get any larger? Just hate to accept a replacement helmet and end up worse off than I currently am.

Have them keep sending replacements till they get it right. Mine is going in the mail as a return tomorrow, this stuff is just unacceptable for these prices.

It's necessary to contact customer service, taking pictures of the defects on the helmet. The problem with cracks is that they can get worse over time...
Anyway, you're right, it's a bummer to pay for something and then have these issues. Especially for this price.

Looks great.Your helmet gives me hope. :D ;)

I found two other photos from the show, and this shows us that when there is very little light, the brightness of the helmet is very dark. Another point noticed, the "ventilation" at the back is a different color...and it's not silver (or similar), like the whole helmet.

So...finally, I think EFX did a good job of reproducing paint, compared to what we see on the screen.

So I received mine here in New Zealand. The only issue is a small crack on the left cheek and I’m not sure what to do or how to ship back or if it’s even worth doing so. So much money already spent getting it here.

Hello guys,

I am glad to see these being shipped. Too bad some have defects but overall, the helmet looks promising and I hope to get mine soon.

But did everybody received the last invoice for it ? I preordered mine back in november and did not get any notifications to pay what’s left yet. I sent 3 emails to EFX support last few weeks but did not received any answer...

I know it would never happen, but I really wish EFX would do a complete remake of these and re-ship. When you get the opportunity to get a direct cast from the show mold, one would think that ANY defects, no matter how small, would never make it off the production line. This was an opportunity for EFX to knock it out the park and they have certainly fallen short. I was lucky enough to get, what I consider, a near perfect helmet...but it still is disappointing to see others who have even the tiniest of defects. We all should have a perfect helmet...not just some of us.

I’m supposed to get mine today, I’m in Montreal, Canada so it always costs more to get this things up here , with exchange rate shipping and duties.
so I really really hope I get a good one .....

Like I said, I think it's almost impossible to have a perfect copy...but, on the other hand, it's unacceptable to have paint cracks or casting errors. Personally, my copy is very good but I noticed 2 little things :

1st thing, the weathering on the cheeks is not quite the same on both sides, but this can only be noticed with some brighter lighting.

2nd thing, I noticed that the lower part of the ears went down slightly more on the right side.

That's it, but it's only two little details impossible to see at first glance...and that doesn't shock me. And unfortunately, there are much worse for some buyers.

I would really like to hear EFX's explanation for the cracks.I say they used cheap and thin resin with only one or two layers of glass behind that.

That's a shame about the cracks. I was wary of the QC on the Anovos in regards to the heavy clear coat, but this is a much bigger concern.

Mine has a crack as well, otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. My only concern is if the crack grows or paint will flake off from it. One thing of note, when I opened the box it reeked of a paint thinner type smell - pretty sure I was high for a little bit lol

Got mine today , overall it looks good .
mat first glance no cracks!!! But I will look at it again tomorrow under better light.
However, I find the visor to be fined and rough as if they painted the helmet with visor on.... I would have thought they installed it after ....has anyone noticed the same ?
here a pic I took with my phone , will take better ones later

I don't understand. Do you have paint on the visor?
What's the serial number on your helmet?

Anyway, I hope all the helmets had this adhesive, that seals the polystyrene box (see my picture), to pass the quality control. I can't believe that those with visible cracks (or glaring molding errors), passed the quality control without any problem.
