Cheap and Accurate Michael Myers Halloween (II) Mask!

I agree, I mean it's not like anyone ever had to repaint a Vader helmet or anything...:behave

(runs and hides...)

They had to make this an H2 mask as the H1 licence is still held elsewhere. That's why it has the flesh tone neck, knitting needle hole in the neck , dirt and so on.

It's the same mask as seen in H1 but with battle scars and weathering. Just like in the movie. The H2 mask was the H1 mask after a few years of (non archival standard) storage. In a drawer somewhere or something.

Watch H2 again, you guys will see how rough it looks.

The new mask's QC may not be perfect based on what I have read, but at least it's fixable because the sculpt is great. Someone over on MM.net posted a few comparison shots of the previous licensed masks (all from Don Post I think) which say it all really:

And now we have:

Without paying $250 or sometimes a lot more.

Apologies to the OP on MM.net for more or less lifting his post, but I think it really drives the point home what a leap forward this new mask is at this price point.

People have been buying and trying to modify the old DP masks for years, but you can't make a silk purse...now we have an inexpensive but good quality licensed product which can be used as it is, or slightly modified into something even better by more exacting collectors, if needs be.

I think it's ok to like this mask, it's a good thing for the Myers community, us prop collectors and casual Halloween costumers alike.

PS - notice what a huge difference the correctly styled hair makes in the last images.

Chris Zephro here from Trick or Treat Studios. I don't know where this QC issue came from but it's ridiculous. My factory is certified at Six Sigma Quality. And for a company who's masks are 100% hand made, that is an amazing statement, in fact we are one of only ten companies to get that certification for an item that is 100% hand made.

On Facebook, one guy (Robert Wilkins), who has a personal problem with me, complained about the mask, which by the way ALL of these complains came before he even received the mask. But the guy wanted a $500+ mask for $55, which is crazy. Justin and I just wanted to give a nice mask to the masses and an option for collectors that didn't want to go mess around on Halloween night with their $300+ mask. Also, we wanted to give Collectors a low priced masks they could work with if they wanted to, such as adding weathering, sealing the mouth, etc. If you mess it up, it was $55 not $350. Look at it this way, you're getting a blank Lunatic for under $100 with a nice finish and Camel hair, which is a VERY rare fiber these days.

Our production company is very capable of making an Independent looking replica, but than it would have been in the $250 range and that defeats the purpose of the license. That being said, Justin and I our going to come out with a high end Collectors Edition next year.

Order with confidence, the masks turned out great and there is NOTHING wrong with our QC.

Well, got home today and was quite giddy to see what was on my doorstep.

Couldn't help myself once I popped open the box to snap a photo of the thing. Futz with the hair a bit and pad it out a bit, then cut the lights and bam, baby!

Not too shabby. Three things I don't like about it though:
1) Flesh color on the neck is really dark but nothing a touch of white spray paint can't fix (would make a very convincing H1)
2) Shadow/rough areas that are painted dark look funny. Really clean, sharp lines make it really distinct on the face
3) Really sloppy paint on the lips (on mine, anyways)

Other than that, this is damn good for the price.

All three of the item you mentioned were deliberate. I have a ton of never seen pictures of the Hero from H2 and you'll see that there was nothing clean about the mask and a good 65% of the mask was flesh tone due to the rot of the original mask, which was used in Halloween II, and the paint pealing off. Send me a PM with you email address and I'll send them your way.

although this mask is made to look like the one worn in H2...I know it was the same mask worn in 1 and 2..but the actors head changes the look of the mask...and this one is made to look like it appears in H2..was wondering has anyone tried to give it a more H1 look...debating on buying one, esp at that price..but was curios as to how it could be changed and how close you could get to a H1?

And don't forget when they shot H2 the mask was rotting like crazy, most of the white paint was gone and almost all of the black spray paint came off in Warlock's hands, which is why the mask was so heavily weather around the neck and nose. Dick's head was too wide for the mask, so when he took it off he grabbed it at the hair, which removed the black spay paint, than he'd pull it off from the neck and nose, hence the weathering.

You don't have to prove anything with me, Chris. I'm perfectly happy with mine. Like you mentioned earlier, it's already in great shape and if I want to touch it up, it's at a point where it's not a complete bother.

Having been a long time Halloween fan, I greatly appreciate what you and your staff have done in creating an affordable alternative to independent customs beyond the budget of some. I'm quite proud of the space that it occupies on my shelf.

I have this so I think I'll be passing on your high end version (which I think if you're gonna do that, kinda defeats the purpose of the one I just bought in the first place), as again, I'm quite content and rather happy with what I have now.

I'm happy you like it :cool

We are still up in the air on the high end version, but I can tell you we are for sure doing the Aliens from They Live, Gunther from The Funhouse, Darkman, and Bubba from Dark Night of the Scarecrow.

Chris

I'd kill for a They Live mask!

Please make it as good as this Myers mask and I will love you forever. :)

Hey Chris that was me that brought that up as I thought my mask was a one off with the paint job and for that I apologize

After seeing others mine looks exactly like the others so there is no QC problem.

I, and I am sure their are others, am in for the high end mask just let us know when to order.

As I posted earlier you can't beat this mask for the price and I was going to wear it as a beater but now I am quite fond of it so I am worried about wearing it now! :lol

I have already scared the you know what out of seven of my friends as well as neighbors with it, nothing like having Michael show up in a dark corner of your room! :lol

Thanks for making this available and the great customer service as well

Received my mask today. I'm very happy with it, no complaints here at all. It's a dead ringer for the H2 screen used mask. I've owned a few Myers masks over the years, including some high priced fan-mades, I can honestly say this easily competes with those. The fact that it's officially licensed and comes from a fan-driven company only adds to the sweetness. I didn't expect that to be the case, so yes - delight from this particular customer.

A brilliant product at a brilliant price - thank you to Chris & Co!

i bought this mask and its a nice mask for the price. When you get it little things may be wrong like on mine one eye was to small but you can cut it yourself. Another the lips on mine was cut open alittle to much than it should. i have noticed that in the pictures that advertising the mask it makes the mask look super great. Dont get me wrong i love the mask but when you get it, it doesnt look like the ones shown. Like the 2nd picture you have posted doesnt look like it at all. Also the end of the paint around the neck was to neat on mine and didnt look like it was kept under a bed for 3 years like it should look. On mine the paint was straight around the jaw line and i didnt like that. But over it IS a good mask. If you want it to look better send to a good mask painter to repaint it if you got the money, Like maybe WMP or Michael Myers.net or if you know someone good then go for it.. or if you can paint it yourself make it look good (;

I would love to get this mask. The problem is that the wife is scarred to death of this and hockey masks. She will turn the channel if it's on TV or make a wide berth around an aisle at Halloween time to avoid them.

:unsure

I received mine the other day and I was blown away.

I couldn't be happier.

I'm now going to order a water zombie mask.

If its as good as the Myers mask in build quality and resemblance to the web photo, then I will sing the praises of tots forever.

My only grumble/complaint is there are not more uk stockists of this supplier

Cheers

Man they are giving those away!

Thanks for the links just ordered another!!

As I told Chris, I couldn't be happier with mine. Yes, you can nitpick this like everything else. But as an affordable, commercially available mask -- top notch in my opinion. Every bit as good as some of the independent masks out there.
