Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Pre-release)

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I am HAPPY to hear CROSSBONES is making his Silver Screen Début :D

However I am not sure how they are going to tackle the CROSSBONES vs Cap dynamics.

After all Cap is a Super Soldier Syrum enhanced being and CROSSBONES was a towering, nasty guy with NO special Powers bar TASK MASTERS training.
That and he also TOWERED over Cap. Now the actor chosen is actually smaller than Chris aka Cap.

I AM hoping however though that they do the MASK and maybe keep it real with a Steve Epting type of look.
After all Crossbones is a NASTY version of Frank Castle in some ways, just answers to the RED SKULL is the difference.

As for Sharon Carter, she has Been a LONG time character with Rogers since his defrost in the future including lovers too.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Sometimes it's these little bits of info that bring me joy.

Just found out today that Trent Opaloch the cinematographer of District 9 and Elysium is also working on one of my most anticipated movies of 2014 aka Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Surprised there hasn't been much talk about recent Cap 2 buzz on here...

Emily VanCamp is a solid choice for Sharon Carter (who else would she be?), anyone who's seen Revenge knows this gal can nail this role. Other recent buzz were Hayley Atwell reprising her role as Peggy (likely for a flashback scene), and Toby Jones reprising his role as Zola though uncertain in what capacity.

Also looks like principal photography starts in April at Cleveland, can't wait to start getting more buzz from the filming.

The full cast is rounding out pretty damn well, lots of solid talent all around from old and new characters. If anything, it's actually starting to feel like TOO many characters here... Black Widow, Fury, Hill, Sharon Carter, Crossbones, Zola, Winter Soldier, and Falcon.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Cap 1 had a huge cast of characters as well. They did it right though and only showed most of them in some small way. Captain Brit for example.

Edit: Union Jack not Captain Britain.

Who thinks Falcon will actually fly in the movie?

Jet pack?

Anti grab belt?

Hasn't Anthony Mackie already said he will fly with wings?

Re: Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Which scene was Capt Britain in?

I meant Union Jack, my bad.
J J Feild plays one of the Howling Commandos by the name of James Montgomery Falsworth aka Union Jack.

It would be cool to see Union Jack in costume on screen.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Hope they have the good sense to update the 1940's uniform to 2013 technology. Cap not having a suit build to protect him is just stupid, give the guy Kevlar KM2 at least.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

You can judt say that Cap has more advanced stuff than Kevlar. Secret shield materials and whatnot.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Huh. Well that's interesting. I certainly don't doubt the guy's physical abilities, I just hope the guy can act.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I don't even know who he is since I've never heard of him before. Not sure how that's going to play out.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Im looking forward to this. But perhaps less so then thor 2 and my most anticipation for im3. RDJ FTW! Lol. Honestly though. No way could they have made a trilogy. Have you seen all the phases planned? It would have delayed most of the marvel universe just for one franchise at one movie every 2 years. Not that its stopped others if the money is coming in. But now that the Avengers has happened we get multiple films per year. Rather than just waiting for cap to do his story id have been 50 by the time it all ended..... suppose they could have jumped between times....

GSP is just in there as a throwaway villain character, most likely. I wouldn't worry much about his acting ability, but then again, RZA was able to (further) destroy GI Joe 2 in the 5 minutes of screentime they gave him, so...
