CAPTAIN AMERICA: TFA suit

Dude! Nice. I'm doing this as well, but yours is progressing much better than mine. lol I'm loving the gloves. I picked up a 6$ army surplus pistol belt on ebay. Works very well. I'm liking what your doing. Giving me some motivation to get off the couch and work on it. lol

are you using a sewing machine or are use sewing by hand? just asking so ill know what to do on mine because my sir, you have inspired me lol

Thanks for all of the compliments. Today I did a first rough cast of the helmet. Lots of sanding (because the damned thing just barely fits on my head) and Bondoing in the near future.

@ironboy1- sewing machine, a really old one at that.

Made some progress with the helmet. Have to do a lot of rework on the right eye because the cast came out slightly warped, but it shouldn't be too big a problem. I think it'll be ready for paint tomorrow.

Great work, my friend...

Is there a pattern of some sort you are using?

Trying to learn sewing myself, and going banannas LOL

please w/b- also I PM'd you

@RumbleBee - Sorry I don't have a pattern for any of this stuff. Most of this is being done by taking shirts and pants and tracing the seam lines onto the fabric. It's very "trial and error" for me.

Cool!

Sorry asked 4 pattern, I'm new at this (the sewing part) and well, given the quality and accuracy of work on your part, I thought maybe there was an existing one for point of reference for a novice like me.

(Hey, gotta start somewhere, right? lol)

I really appreciate your time and in closing, is there any way I can acquire (buy, trade, whatever) one? One meaning the top/chest/shoulders part...I am very impressed, and well the premiere doth approacheth..lol

Please respond via post, PM, or e-mail, and let me know at ur earliest convinience

p.s. Will u be using the tee-shirt material for the pants as well?

Really great work!!!

I love the film version and you are doing an unbelievable job replicating it!

I don't know what your physical build is, but are you making the outfit larger so you can pad the muscles inside?

Also, it's probably a good thing the helmet fits snug, as it shouldin order to get the right look.:thumbsup

I'm really enjoying watching this come together!

Michael

most amazing captain america TFA build on this website by far keep up the great work would love to see more pics soon

Second shoulder pad is almost done and more work was done on the helmet. (which is taking For-ev-er)

@WZAJETS i'm using bondo for the trim. Had I known the work required I probably would have sculpted the trim on to the original clay sculpture.
