Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

super subtle amber gradient....I may have been too conservative on color. it's going to take a few lenses in different colors for me to learn what I like, I'm afraid. Initium were great to deal with and really gave me exactly what I specified so if I end up changing it it's totally on me! I think I will end up quite a bit darker on the blue lenses.

BTW, the Initium Concept 2 "oversize" version of 61□15 148, is the closest to the screen accurate Roy Tower Concept 2 SIG size of 61□14 140.(y)

If you are not entirely happy with the fit of the Dior's and are after the Tod's 0199...please bear in mind the Tod's have the same lens width and bridge size (53□17) as the Diors, but with the thin rhodium frame, don't have the thicker almost "Wayfarer" style frame protruding temples as the Dior's, so they will have a much smaller overall frame visual width and fit than the Dior's.

Speaking of the Tod's 0199...I just recently picked up another pair of Tod's 0199 (currently en route), this time the blue lens version.:D

After looking at the NBA trailer screencaps and looking at both my versions, I thought I would ask the question: Which version is this with custom light purple lenses, the green lens frame or the blue lens frame?

I suppose it doesn't really make a whole lot of difference here and maybe I'm being a bit nit-picky, as the "trailer only" scenes are over in a flash anyway.
I know some have the 18V blue and some have the 18N green, but in the past, we've went back over and revisted frames and reevaluated our findings, sometimes to uncover hidden or previously unseen details.

As we all know product shots can be quite misleading sometimes in how the colors are represented, as opposed to how they look in person. Product shots can often be lighter in appearance.

The obvious only difference between the two shiny rhodium frames, besides the stock lens colors, are the "rope arm detail" colors.

The blue 18V having a 3 color rope detail (dark brown, dark navy blue and army/olive green)...
View attachment 1451573

The green 18N having a 1 color rope detail (light brown)...
View attachment 1451574

In the following pics in particular, (despite the resolution not being great:oops:), the color looks "uniform" in that it looks like a lighter, solid and only single color area. There doesn't seem to be any darker 3 color diamond pattern sections within the leather...

The 18V rope detail dark blue and green sections, seem to run more prominently down the side, with the "dark brown" noteably running mainly and less visibly along the "top"...
View attachment 1451583

I'm wondering if the darker 3 color rope arm from the 18V blue lens version (even based on a lighter product shot), would be able to look like as light brown and as "plain & even" as this??...

Anyway, I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion, it would be great to hear everyone's thoughts on this!!

Does anyone have better resolution pics, or is able to screenshot a clearer and definitive view of these rope arms?
Super useful as always dude! I think the problem with the diors isn’t so much the width being a 53 (like Tods) because I’m sure the neymars are 53 too and they’re fine!! It’s the vertical length that ruins me I think! caus if they’re not wide but longer vertically and closer to the point of my nose then they’re fine!! Do ma want favour if you have both and send a pic of the diors with the tods below so I can compare!!

Here's the 53mm Dior Black Tie 137 and the Tod's 0199...
20210502_095725.jpg 20210502_095651.jpg

And together for a size comparison...;)

20210502_095740.jpg 20210502_095625.jpg 20210502_100902.jpg20210502_100832.jpg 20210502_095817.jpg 20210502_095605.jpg

To gauge the size differences as well as the pics...
The Dior's are 53□17 145 with a lens height of 35mm.
The Tod's are also 53□17 145, but with a notable different lens height of 43mm.

Hope this helps :D.

I got a pair too coincidentally...probably from the same place! Are they one size or were they produced in multiple? Mine was a 53 and waaaay too small, wasn’t sure if someone said they made a 55???
There are 55 in the black tie 164s. It's pretty good.

There are two types of black ties. 53 17 140 and 53 17 145. The width of the bridge pattern is wider at 140. Tanya's selection looks like 140 types. It can be inferred from the black font in Tanya's photo.

He guys, I'm going to use up my vision plan yearly benefits on Matsudas. I know a lot of you have the Matsuda 3023 in blue... and i have to have a prescription lens made anyway. Did you alter the color from factory grey gradient specs? Trying to decide if I should lighten them up but it's hard since they don't have any on hand at the shop. I do want to actually wear them but wasn't sure if the factory tint meant I'd have to change glasses every time I step indoors! Thank you for any advice.

You must rule at playing "spot the difference" :D(y)
So now I need a teeny bit extra smooth section on my Dior's nose bridge.

BTW I didn't trim the tape whilst still on the frame, Lol.

Uurrgh that looks awful, so needless to say, off came the tape!!

Seriously though, great detective work on the 137's Sake!!:D

I've been wearing the British Steel out a few days now and I have to say they are really growing on me specifically as driving glasses. Great field of view and even with everything opened up the wind doesn't hit my eyes. I will use them a few months and evaluate the tint levels. maybe put dark lenses in the black pair so I have a day pair and a night pair. I like the faint amber in the evening.

I'm sorry to say something boring!
Please don't apologise as this is not boring, quite the opposite in fact!!

The fact that your eagle eye spotted that tiny difference in the 137's is truly amazing!!:D(y)
I was deliberately and purposefully botching mine with a bit of tape, purely for my own crazy amusemento_O, to crudely and temporarily see what they might look like closer to the screen accurate pair!!

As I've said, I think it's great and really important revisting frames and discussing our previous findings, as without much closer inspection, these unseen tiny details will always just remain hidden.

Here's an interesting piece that I came across, described as a collectors "challenge coin" (It's double sided)...

You should be able to find this in the obvious place with the description below...

"E.D.I.T.H. Glasses Iron Man Spiderman Far From Home Marvel inspired Challenge Co"

I'm thinking of getting these Isba.
Can anyone tell me how light (and dark) the photochromic lenses go?
Thanks
