Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Finally!! - Got some brand new boxed Paul Smith Walton!!!

Special thanks to my man gio for sharing an "early Christmas" by very kindly helping me...;)(y). I'd been looking for these for so long, I was beginning to think I'd never get them!!

I originally had "OTT" yellow lenses in my EA 4036 placeholders - In a tragic and somewhat traumatic accident, my 4036 frames "bought the farm" in a hot pan of black Rit Dye More:oops:...(The flashbacks should fade with time ). They're in a better place now I'm sure in eyewear heaven.(y)

Anyway, now my Walton's needed customs and after studying the pics a bit more...

...unworn, the color looked good, but after wearing them for a bit, realized they were ever so slightly too dark when on.

Looking at this much better reference pic, IMHO, it reveals just how light the lenses are. In particular, the section (furthermost to the right, on the right lens), that isn't over the face...

So decided I had to go a tad lighter just to get that "darker when worn" color even closer...

Awesome find!!!
They look absolutely fantastic

What about this awesome cute pin badge...

It's just a pic I've came across, it's probably unlikely to be a "one-off", so hopefully they'll eventually find their way onto AliExpress, Wish or ebay at some point.

Could be a nice subtle little accessory to wear to compliment your Flight 6's!!! ;)

Whoa!! Found one already!!...:D

Don't know what the exact size of these are (judging by 3 backing pins, approx. 10mm each)...
20210414_152307.png
...I'm guessing 55mm to maybe 60mm wide??
The badge opens/closes, but not sure if the tiny Flight 6's inside are removable!!

**Edit**
Oops, apologies, forgot about the live listings policy
(Currently 1 on the "bay")

Looks like the middle pin is the one holding the tiny Ditas so they look removable, nice find (y)

Dude they look amazing! So as far as the lenses go, did you get donor lenses from other glasses and cut them, or dye already existing lenses?...of both

Thanks man!! :D

They were donors from my "donor lens box". I keep a well stocked box of lenses in all sizes and colors for making customs.

Ah so the darker peach you tried at first and the lighter version you ended up with are 2 completely different lenses? I’ve got the same pair and my lenses are yellow, I’m quite happy with the colour but did want them lightened, because as you said, when they’re on your face they darken considerably! So is lightening an existing pair of lenses possible to do myself? Or even better, would an opticians be able to do it to if I sent them a pair?

Yeah, I put in another pair of lenses that were a lighter peach than the first versions. :)

I don't think it's possible to lighten lenses, if anything, using a dye at home would only allow you to go darker. There would have to be some sort of method of taking the color out of the lens to make them lighter. If it was at all possible, I'm guessing with a chemical such as bleach, but I really am only guessing here. How it could then be DIY controlled to any degree of precision in producing an exact color seems really doubtful. The thought of bleach on lenses is rather scary.
Dyeing (and un-dyeing) isn't my forte I'm afraid.:(
My only experience with dye, mentioned earlier, resulted in my EA 4036's being KIA, they did literally "dye"...I've haven't been near dye since!!o_O

It would probably be easier all round (and cheaper) just to change the lenses. That way, if you go to an Opticians, hopefully, they should be able to show you color lens samples so you can choose the exact color that you want. Take your existing lenses to show them the starting point from where you'd like to go lighter.

New Bernardo Colors! :D

Went to the ophthalmologist today and got my eyeballs dilated. When I was leaving he said "did you bring sunglasses with you?" I just laughed and said "wouldn't go anywhere without them!"
Same thing happened to me about 8 week ago.
The weather wasn't great so I took my Cortland's ( I'd just got them with the light blue lenses and was desperate to wear them).
The optician asked "are they those transition lenses that will go darker", I replied "erm, yeah that's correct" Lol.
He obviously didn't understand "eyewear" as opposed to sunglasses. :)

thanks to the great advices of my friend uv400 I managed to get some shiny 3320 and I put some custom brown lenses in. not 100% screen accurate because I wanted the glasses to be more suitable for broad daylight but I really like the way they turned out. thanks again man!

Just email Initium. You can order lenses from them. Search Results for “lenses replacement” – Initium Eyewear
I am pleased to be able to report that Initium got back to me, I am putting a request in for a blue gradient and an amber gradient set for my red and black British Steels, respectively. Or maybe the other way around... maybe red should get the amber? Staying fairly light toned like the red gradients they came with. I didn't want dark lenses for sure.

These look weird. Anyone got any clearer photos of this?

Worn again here too...

As the NDG-1's are similar and also close in size at 50mm, I made some mid-brown lenses as a change to light purple and light blue, to get the same look...
