Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

That said, the Concept 2's came out the correct size in the end, probably as Roy Tower is no more.....I thought Mosley Tribes was also??

maybe since they were related to oliver peoples there's still some copyright in the usa they couldn't go over?

btw, trying to be more clear speaking of sizes I think you all can relate to, when I got the police from initium last year I was a bit disappointed because they were right for my face to the centimeter. I felt that even a mm less would have made them unwearable for me, but luckily they were the right size, just a bit small for my taste. with these ones today I felt the opposite, I was luckily surprised they were that large. at the time I still was mislead by rdj small face and I didn't know that almost every frame looks bigger on him I guess

Haha I said that! Personally I don’t think it’s got much to do with copyright, I mean they’re so close in colour and style, I don’t think initium using a “oh they’re 2mm smaller” defence would work if someone from Oliver people’s complained! plus the fact initium have said on the website they’re recreating the movie glasses, means that they’re clearly admitting they’re copying the style! Personally I think they’ve made them smaller to get more sales! They’ll look regular size on some people and large on other smaller faces, but without them being massive on anyone and putting people off

There are no design patents involved on the original glasses so anybody can copy them. Initium was smart to make them smaller.

Look how many fake Dita flights are being made and those original glasses are still in active production.

Ya but the difference is i think all the fake 006s are bieng made and sold from China and good luck going after the Chinese for that. Thier country practically runs off of counterfeit merchandise. However initium bieng a American company i think would get Thier pants sued off. Just my opinion of course.

I agree that China Corps are intellectual property thieves. However Initium is not doing anything like that. The Bromleys have zero design patents for those glasses, without a patent there is nothing to sue someone over. There is zero patent infringement because there is no design patent to begin with. There is no copyright infringement because copyrights don’t apply to designer sunglasses. it applies to product names, logos, corp. legal names. If the 3000 are different it was most likely for artistic reasons and making them accessible to a broader client base.

Interestingly, there was some consideration for a Dita Mach One in Spider-man: Far from Home before they finalized the Flight 006.

Here are some comparison pics of the Bromleys (blue) vs the 3000 (Havana). Pardon my really terribly amateur pics. I just got off work and tote right into the box! Let me know if you want to see more

What could you say about the quality?
The hinges on the 3000 feel more sturdy than the MT. When you place the 3000 on the counter they don't sound cheap like the MTs (I hope that makes sense). The overall material feels better quality. they weigh exactly the same. When I first got my MT and put them on I felt like I was going to break the arm at the hinge. The 3000s sit better on my face. I think that might be because it looks like height of the 3000 is shorter. I tried to capture it in the last pic (my phone is flat on my counter). Overall I think I like them better. Though it's not going to stop me from trying to hunt down the movie pair even though I like my blue MTs.

The 3000's do look great and it's great to hear the quality and sturdiness is much improved over the Bromleys.

To be a little bit fairer to customers though, Initium could perhaps update their existing 3000 taglines to:

"We are recreating (a reduced size version of) this iconic frame that was discontinued back in 2011".

"Own a piece of movie history!"
(Just made smaller though).

No nitpicking intended, just a bit of mild humor!

The different colors of the 3000's look great too, with multiple pairs, you could also switch the lenses around to get a different style or look!:D

Are the lenses easy to pop out? I'm thinking about having my own custom lenses made

They'll be the same as the Bromley's, in that there is a screw which holds the plastic lens "holders" in place.

Once the screw is taken out, the lens (with holder) comes out. It's then just a case of popping out the lenses from the holders - identical procedure to the Matsuda M3023's and TF Johnson's.:D

Is it hard to pop the lenses out of the orbitals? Cause it was a bitch on the Johnson's

Yeah, the Johnson's are some of the tightest fitting I've ever come across!
With the original Bromley's, they came out easily with little effort...probably due to the mediocre quality!

Haha ok thanks
No problem, the 3000's lenses should come out fine, I've never had trouble with any of the other Initium frames/lenses during removal or installation.

Now that you've mentioned changing the lenses for customs, I think I'll be doing the same, great idea man!:D
