Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

I have 2 displays and a (full) 64 travel case. I need to go to ikea or something because I'm tapped out on cabinet space and want a third one.

That walk in is INSANE!!! I would love something like that. I keep telling myself I want to turn my computer room into a lens lab and sunglass display room.View attachment 1089454View attachment 1089455View attachment 1089456
Holy hell i thought i was insane!! looking at your 2 cabinets i feel a bit better having 2 myself not much but a bit lol

Good god, you are Elton John!! Lol!

Seriously though, a walk-in closet on a smaller scale, is not impossible.

Even if it's only small enough to be able to just "stand within it" with sunglasses to the front and either side, rather than "walk-in", might make more sense in terms of space, than having multiple glass cabinets.

Safer and more discreet too, from a security perspective, as once closed and locked, cannot be seen.

The various generic clear plastic holders/racks (which is what I have), only display the frames, plus, I'm always worried they might fall off with the slightest knock!

I'd like to have my eyewear displayed alongside their cases, as the cases are nice too.

It would be better if I used high gloss wooden display "duckets" rather than clear plastic racks and custom fitted them into a closet, with each "ducket" able to display the frame and case, original lenses (if customs are fitted) + a small plaque or card with info/background on the frame.

With the right lighting to compliment, it could end up something really special.

I going to think about emptying a closet and testing those DIY and craftsmanship skills to the max!

That sounds like a sunglass museum, not a closet or display!!

Haha, no just more like a condensed version of that Elton John walk-in.
I suppose the info. "plaques" were a bit too far!! :D
No way are the plaques too far, I dig the idea. I have a couple on my Oakley shelf that shows which frame they are. I wanted more for each frame but I figured in a closed quarters case they would eat up too much frame real estate. I'm angry now because I can't fit my 3000s in either of my cases. I'm considering moving my All In frames to a 12 slot tray since I have exactly 12 but then I'll be mad that they can't be displayed. Super mega first world collector problem, I know!! I went to ikea to look at another case but I'm really not sold on any of them. I can picture in my head what I'm looking for but I just can't seem to find anything.

Have you thought about the route Adam Savage took with customizing Billy Bookcases from Ikea? The bookcases are pretty cheap so you can customize the heck out of them and not feel bad lol

Anyone wanna take a shot at these?

There's a pair of Persols on eBay, man did the price go up overnight.

I'm on the fence kids! Do I want to add those polaroid frames to my collection. I know they're decently priced but are they worth the money or should I save the cash for a different pair. I want to hear everyone's thoughts.

Those brown 2430's look like they might just have the correct "solid tint" brown lenses in them.

I'm going to take my gradient browns out now and source some "solid tints".

If anyone wanted to go down the route of re-coloring to the movie version, the frames look like brown "anodised" metal.
I think it's unlikely it could be removed to reveal polished silver underneath, as per the black versions, which are simply just polished silver sprayed black.
They would be a good purchase just for the lenses, but maybe not at that price!! Lol.

I've got the Polaroids - (turns out it was just 1 pair from the awards..the silver frame with grey slight blue flash lens).

I think they are a decent pair of sunglasses TBF - especially for the price! I've been wearing them quite a bit.
I think I said earlier they are similar in style to Cutler & Gross 1308's, but way, way cheaper in price!!

The lenses are the best part, as they are transparent light grey most of the time, but catch the light and go mirror blue. :D

Slightly off topic but, I've put some dark green G-15 polarized lenses in my Fulton 2nd Gen re-issues.

It's given them a much needed new lease of life, as the original grey lenses were a bit tired and marked, because I got them second hand.
They now feel brand new!

I think it was a sensible upgrade, especially now they are polarized!

It's also made them a tad closer to the 1st Gen, :D kinda like a happy compromise for not having any.:(

I'll hang on to the stock grey lens originals though, until I source genuine VZ grey replacements to preserve the frames authenticity.
