Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer (portside primered, lots of pics)

Hi Julien,

I have just bought some Revell "Battle of Midway" kits and they have some parts with the two levels like the parts you are looking for, which look just about right if they were glued to a flat plate ?

I have also PM to your personal e mail with another question please
Andrew

Emailed you back Andy,

Are you talking about the part with the 3 pins ? Do you have any pic of it ?

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer (portside primered, lots of pics)

I'm, once again, humbled and awed by your modelling mastery! My favourite SW ship...in proper scale, with proper detail......when you light this, i may just pass away......

Dude, I am so pleased to see this amazing thread back on Page 1 where it belongs :thumbsup

It's also *my* favourite Star Wars ship, and to see it contsructed in full Studio Scale with such an amzing eye for minute detail, is awe-inspiring!
Keep up the good work Julien, we're all countin' on ya! :love

Ummmmm..... I'm afraid the only knowledge I have about the I.S.D.'s engines, was that they were made from pantyhose/tights packages! :$

Who'd have thought the Empire was into lingerie? LOL

Cheers,

Yeah John, but that was only true for the ANH ISD ! They were custom made for the TESB and cast in resin (mixed with aluminium powder). I think I'll have to buy a big lathe to turn the engine bell master ! :angry

Re: Building the 8' Star Destroyer (portside primered, lots of pics)

inconceivably stunning detail as usual. I feel as if i'm a janitor on a space dock watching this behemoth come together.

the the white piping in the above picture a found element? Is it a thread? is it round or sanded flat on one side? It's so delicate, i can't believe how straight it is.

Thank you very much !

Which piping ? On the top of the part of the last picture ? If this is the piping you're talking about, it's just styrene rods from Plastruct !
