Cool - actually those packing and shipping charges are probably similar to those would find with any high end auction house such as Christie's, PIH, & Sotheby's (think Star Trek auction - one of a kind, valuable and breakable props).

Glad to hear things worked out and hope the remaining auctions are a smashing success! (y)thumbsup

I have been speaking some with Alec recently as I have been after a couple of sets of rank pins for a while and he is just the most approachable and helpful guy.I have had nothing but problems with people at places like Premiere Props and the like with ebay auctions in the past and Alec has been great-very refreshing approach to things.
Got myself a set of pins and am after another.Perhaps not the most glamorous of pieces or signficant but it's all Battlestar.

The following was told to me by a few different people directly involved with BSG , so it is second hand info and i personally have no hard evidence but

........"When it comes to many of the props that they are selling, most are not screen used. The made extras of alot of items just so they can sell them at auction. Thats what they do, they have a contract with tv and film projects to sell the props and then have the prop depsartments make extra of this and that, also the try and make the stars touch and try on as many props and costumes as possible to say the are screen used or worn by the actor."

....." a person bought my so called screen used outfit from the show and when i saw it up close i know for a fact that it wasn't the one i used for filming, it may have been one i tried on for wardrobe but not the one i wore in the show"

Anyone else hear anything like this?

I am sure they do this for alot of movies and TV shows. They like to have back ups. As the internet, especially Ebay, has become more prominent they take advantage of the forum to help finance the cause.

For die hard collectors this is an incredible let down. But who is to truly say which is which. Sometimes you just have to go for it and hope for the best. It really all comes down to how much does it mean to YOU.

I just wish they would post better, clearer pictures.

Best,
DBCooper

Someone gave me a new (unopened) copy of this catalog the other day at the SDCC (because she knew I was a fan of the show) I know it has over 300 pages and something like 800 images, but even at that I was impressed.
I am not sure if I will end up keeping it or not but it is a great book, and the auction items were fantastic (I know that is old news.)
What a great resource for props - I wish more shows would do this.:thumbsup

Week 26 ends the Propworx BSG Airlock Auctions and thus they have sold everything. However, Propworx is hoping to offer props in October from the new BSG movie “The Plan”.

Just wanted to say that this has been a top notch production by Alec and Propworx!

An amazing assortment of props and it sure has been a lot of fun archiving all of the cool photos.
