Limited Run [BRRogers/Verity Cosplay/7 Chambers] "Mom of All Heroes" ORDERING

OK, dumb question here from a Not-Fake-But-Definitely-Wimpy Fangirl™:

I don't intend on having this kit installed anytime in the near future because I'm not going to the post office while I'm on indefinite pandemic self-isolation. In the meantime, I would have at least liked to have this in belt-hanger status. Since the tri-ring will not be mounted, how difficult would you estimate clamping it on will be? I don't have access to a workshop, I only have basic hand tools at my disposal. I'm not exactly the strongest gal around, so I'm wondering if I won't have enough hand strength to get this thing in place. I haven't handled mild steel in this gauge so I have no idea how stiff or pliable it'll be.

All you will Need is some electrical tape (to prevent scratches on the ring) and a pair of pliers. To sets of pliers will make it even easier

it is not at all difficult. The mild steel is pretty soft which is why the factory deformed it when mounting for the sample. It is a very easy endeavor to mount your tri-ring.

you can always PM me as well if you want installed and I can discuss commission with you. I have SOME bandwidth but not a lot.

I know you mentioned in the video that the brass will darken by the time it’s delivered. So i presume the copper / brass pieces come raw and not cleared, correct?

it is beryllium copper not brass, although initially it does have a sort of brass-like yellow to it but not quite like brass does. The beryllium copper has a higher strength against deformation particularly with the complexity of the rail canoe. It will come untreated and will darken and redden over time. Some folks may also want to put foil tape over part of the rail surface like the original is suspected to have also.

Awesomesauce, then I should be able to deal with it. :)

I greatly appreciate you mentioning a commission option, but I'm OK with holding off on that for now. You're going to be very busy, plus my employment situation is up in the air right now so I need to have budget restraint. I've had my heart set on this kit for a long time so I'm determined to have it, but anything further can be a deferred dream (especially since I have an installed V2 I'm very happy with :D).

No worries. Just thought I would put it out there.

I have a question about the windvanes (necks of the saber). From what I’ve read and heard so far, do we need to add some coating or treatment to the necks of the hilts after receiving them? This would be in order to keep the look of the necks, so that it won’t change over time. I’m not familiar with coatings and painting, so I wonder how to go about it if this is the case.

They are untreated to allow to patina. So if you want them to stay bright and shiny then yes you will need to clearcoat them.

renaissance wax is a good way as well as rustoleum spray clear coat

Just wonderful work! I never thought I’d be able to install a Luke hero with a 21700 AND room for crystal reveal. Bring on the kits!

That was a specific goal of mine. I am not POSITIVE it will work yet until we design the chassis but I want either a 21700 or a removable 18650 as the power source to be able to get longer run times. As an FX installer myself I think that helped in design considerations. Just looking at the cavity even with the chamber in, I think it is going to be possible.

Gearing up for shipping all. Just a couple things we are waiting on! (Product boxes, PCBs and odds and ends).

If you have been waiting to sign up, now is the time as the run is nearly full. There are about 40 kits left unspoken for out of the entire massive run. So if you have been waiting, time is running out!
