Remaining items to full launch/ship:
1.) arrows. They are not done yet.
2.) batch production of helper boards (I just verified those so we need to batch produce them
3.) batch production of reveal boards
4.) BRRogers has a concern with the Tri-ring so we need to revisit that.
5.) I need to finish the last remaining dimension verifications. Have a few left but so far everything is within 0.04mm of my spec.
so we are getting close!

Another example of the Hammond Principle.... we had to make two plates... because... that's what we do...

So I have been away from home the last eight weeks and am finally getting home and reading this! Super excited. Also leaving in a week for another five weeks. Can you confirm I am on the trade in list for my Ultimate Hero? I haven't heard anything and my spam filters are a little crazy. Think I also may get the static version when it comes around.
Bryan and I don't have visibility into the trade in list but I will follow up with Lewis.

Oh my god, that board has made my excitement go up even more notches!!! It looks like you can solder in pogo pins. Is that the case? If that's what I'm thinking this is, it's going to be insanely easy for both the control box reveal and the crystal reveal. This is a solution I was trying to figure out for my AS Hero and I hadn't even thought of a helper board, just trying to make a 3d printable holder for the pins you can get on mouser which has space issues so I've kinda put it off. This is really impressive guys, the whole thing, just awesome. Mind blown. Any chance you'll have any separate boards?

Yes you could solder pogo pins to this. However the problem is removing the entire box once installed would require removal of the helper board beneath because of the fact that the mounting screws are under the helper. So it's not really designed for box removal once installed. However it absolutely could be done. The idea is the helper sits on the bottom. And the reveal board sits above it. The card slides away to show the reveal board. Theoretically you could also build a sort of functional reveal PCB and power it off the helper lines. I am actually playing with this myself because for my personal saber I am less concerned with a canon reveal board and would rather put something like an LED bar graph. So I may in fact wind up building my own PCB that introduces some SMD pixels and chain it into the helper.

Oh yeah, that's totally what I meant! I was just excited and am bad at explaining lol. I'm saying it'll be easy with the pogo pins for chassis removal, and then you can also have the reveal board on top for the canon internals, and this awesomely designed board makes it that much easier, which is super cool to me because I have been pondering this for a few months now. Truly awesome work. This is gonna make one hell of a Hero!
EDIT: Also yeah, a separate board with some SMDs for a power led graph would be awesome
