Limited Run BRRogers’ Luke ROTJ Hero ‘MoM’ Clamp-cards

Thanks again guys for your replies and letting me know you’ve gotten them. I’ve packed this batch exactly the same so if anything shows up in a way out of the ordinary please let me know that too. I want to make sure they are packed well and arrive safely for future runs. (If this is working)

*edit*
I’d also love feedback and thoughts regarding the cards. I ‘think’ I’ve been pretty thorough with my process and explanation... and the limitations I’ve encountered...

But! I’d be happy to answer any detailed questions now that they’re going out.
Specifically: feedback would be greatly appreciated since I’m sure many of you have different applications and experiences, and if you find this item worthy of making an ‘unlimited run’.

I would ESPECIALLY appreciate feedback from those of you who got ‘old blue’ AND ‘true blue’ cards.
Of course I hope you’re happy with both, but want to gauge the level at which you think it’s a sustainable product... in terms of maintaining offering and inventory.

hope that makes sense.
This is my second offering of items (the RP Gen 1 V4 arrow plates were my first community offering, which knullzero graciously helped me with in tandem with his PCBs and arrows)

Mine came in today and I'm very pleased! Love how the blue has the faded shade to it on the edge but bolder in the middle. Here are some shots of the cards and one in my AS Hero. Thanks again Bryan!

Thanks Chris, glad they came through!

Someone brought up a great question.
Do I believe that they used Vector Edge connectors?
The implication in the question is that, if they did the tracing length should be the same, yet these are just a bit longer at 2”.

interestingly, sloth’s card length and tracing widths are almost the same. I assume his process for designing his card was similar to what I did in that, they were traced over the best reference we have. (the prop blog photos), and presumed at 2”.

I haven’t seen a vector board yet that I’ve implicitly thought HAS to be the source.
Vector is certainly close but there were many board styles and manufacturers who used the same technique and spacing trace spacing at the time.
However, based off the multilayer construction of the Hero card section and the indication of conformal coating that we can see in the photos, I just can not think they’re the perfect ringer. Just the next best find.

That’s why this card is, in a way, proprietary and designed for sabers. It’s built off what I know, see, and aligns into those overlays from the MoM model.
Most Hero saber vendors (and graflex clamps) are specifically 2” long and it stands to reason they would have done the same for the StuntYuma/etc.

, there are also some variation in the Vector boards that I don’t believe are fully accounted for yet.
I managed to find two of the blue/green variant... seen here with the Slothfurnace wide blue card. This and other boards from that period share a similar color to the Hero card, leading my assumption that there are more similar styles out there yet unaccounted for.
It’s also easier to tell in person, but there is some variation in the consistency of traces for one....depending on *where* you are comparing the boards together.

All that to summarize: the Vector boards are close... In trace spacing and color... but for the work done on the model and scaling front, they just don’t seem to quite match up, and to actually have the correct one it needs to be multi-layer and have involved conformal coating in some regard.

Thanks BRR!
I received the OB and TB and they both look great honestly! The second photo is the OB on AS’s new hilt and the third photo is the TB.

Thanks for those el toro & Goodie2325 !

Also: Don't forget, you'll really get to see the wild color change as you move these cards around in the daytime, outdoors, sunlight, lowlight, etc. It's fun to see the variation ;)

As a reminder for those who's cards were sent out in the past week, when you get them please confirm receipt and condition!
Since I'm using snail-mail by default (no tracking) I'll be worried until I know everyone got them.
Also helps confirm that the packaging style is sustainable:oops:

Mine arrived safe and sound over the weekend. They look great. Thanks for the effort getting these made.

Small update:
I noticed there was a change in the "language" on USPS' website to clarify what specific countries were not receiving mail; but it now appears as though it's not a blanket issue.

Now they're saying that it's not 'guaranteed' (which basically just means it might take longer, and they won't ensure what you've placed inside)... if it's going to the UK, AUS, China, etc...

Based on the change of their description I've gone ahead and attempted to mail out the international cards since everyone so far is within those parameters, and the envelopes aren't going out ensured anyway.

Basically the worst thing that can happen is they'll be sent back to me... and I'll try again later.

That said, if you get your card and you're overseas please let me know, and again let me know that they showed up in good condition... might take a little while but they're out!
If I do get them back for some reason I'll update again.

Also,

thanks to turok96 for identifying a potential issue with the NicksDad Hero box.
It appears that card slot is wider, shorter, and thinner.
the True Blue will have a hard time fitting in this box, based on what has been shared... due to the thickness.

please message me if you have a similar issue with your nicksdad boxes

Hello there, is it too late to order some of these? If possible, I would like an OB and a TB. Thank you!

Just been up to the office for the first time in a week and they were sat on my desk.
Really nice.:)
Many thanks
J
