Boba Fett helmet build, ongoing project.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

Wow man! That bucket is looking really sharp. Your patience definitely has payed off, can't wait to see some paint on it. I'm considering building this helmet soon, maybe after I remodel it some and tweak the details a bit.

i hope im not wrong or sounding rude, but you made the helmet pep file, right? its been so long since i got the file and started the build, im pretty sure it was you so in that case, thank you for making it in the first place.

Looks like you "found the art after removing the un-needed bits" ;)

A Most impressive pep-prop to be sure.

I like it more than my Don Post helm.

My helmet is missing a large handful of bits, they will be added, when? i don't know, but they will be added at some point. thank you for the kind words.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

pictures

the pictures aren't very good (as normal) so you can't tell the colour is actually white

the blue is drying out in the garage right now and black to go on tomorrow.

the paint scheme will be explained soon, along with some snap shots.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

gah damn man i gotta get back to work on my helmet. That is one fine ass helmet. You should attempt to mold that sucker

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

thats the highest compliment you could give me Crank if i could sell just enough to cover most of my initial costs i would, id just end up making casts and have loads of different paint schemes on them.

i dont know much on the molding and casting process yet though, i'll be looking into that more later down the line.

my paint it all done now and drying but i'll leave you waiting couple more days for a picture, reason being the paint scheme i have done is to represent my the royal navy passing out uniform of my girlsfriends brother, he is getting married tomorrow, sunday 1st april, no its not a bad april fools joke.

"why have you paint a boba fett helmet in royal navy colours for a wedding though?"

for some reason, unknown to me, the men attending the wedding have been making "silly hats" for a tradition from the brides side of the family, and since my helmet was near a semi finished state i thought, why the hell not? its not a silly hat, but it is a badass helmet.

(the visor has been temporally install with masking tape but it will hold for the time i need it to)

i'll post couple more progress pictures later, paint half completed.

edit: added pictures

added some blue to it, the white dome is just pure white on these pictures unlike the last ones for some reason unknown to me, anyway enjoy.

and heres a very small sample of the masking tape and bargain booze bags i used.
PICT0264-4.jpg

i had no idea how long it can take to mask up the areas prior to painting, i knew it wouldn't be a 5 minute job but longer than i anticipated.
bargain booze bags are the best to use. :cheers

again, a note about the paint scheme (from my previous post);

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

I agree with Crank, depending on the size i'd buy a cast as well.

like i said about Crank's comment, that is the best compliment you can give me, thank you

i do have a bit of money spare so i might be making some casts just to see how it goes regardless if i was to sell some to justit a try and give out one or two to friends and if i think they are half decent i would be happy to sell a cast, but i've still got some work to do before i get to that point.

i'll post some pictures of finished navy themed paint job tomorrow for those interested

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

Looking good! And yes, if you do happen to give the molding a shot, pm me. I would definitively be interested.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

i'll be sure to keep you in mind then if i dare to dabble in the molding/casting arts

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

Rosskow, are you sure this is your first attempt at this stuff? Your works looks like professional work! Keep it up, mate.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

damn man I'm very excited to see how that turns out... i just got back from London for work and I was tempted to hunt you down and steal that damn nice helmet. Either that or buy you a pint or two.

that is awfully kind of you to say, i am quite surprised and proud of it myself, i just hope when i attempt to give it the proper fett paint job it turns out nice.

im a little far from london but i wouldn't say no to a "bud-wis-er" (no frog emotes to put, damn)
and since you're back home, get back to work on your build i want see some updates.

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

I love this build I always like to see how other people tackle their helmets. I'm new to this myself... it makes for a good hobby (better than playing video games cause the end result is something you can actually be proud of)

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

i know what you mean, it feels rewarding (even if my girlfriend has no idea what it is and doesn't 'get it' sadly) having your very own stormtrooper/boba fett bucket to display

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

the finished product (for now, that is as far as the navy paint job is concerned)

I'm not gonna lie man, when I first saw the beginning of this thread a while ago, I really didn't think it would come out very good. But you sir....Have managed to make this into an unbelievably amazing piece of art. I applaud you, for your hard work and patience....It definitively paid off.

I love the paint too! The navy blue and the white really go well together!

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)

Crank, i couldn't agree with you more, as i've said before i've surprised myself from what i've made, and im very happy with it, but still not done with it yet...

Re: Boba fett helmet pep build (my first build)
