Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien)

Im not sure what your smoking, but someday when I become a retired hippy, I want some. Your Skills far out weigh your ego.

You're way too humble, that base is Freaking amazing, and you should be proud of it.

This WHOLE project just Blows me away.

That is just......words cannot describe how good it is.

This project is absolute proof of what someone can do with some spare time and devotion. I've just come across the thread and read it from start to finish, I reckon even if someone were to skim over your photos they would be able to tell how much passion you have for this project.

Keep it up dude, you're putting everyone to shame with Bob

Actually, I think I've got the phrase:

This is just....inspiring

Honestly, I hope everyone who has ever considered creating any replica, from a dagger to a dragon, gets to see this thread because it would boost anybody's ambition

It's certainly affected me, and for that, thank you

This is exactly the kind of thing I was imagining when you posted about ideas for the base :D

Can't wait to see more!

Evertime I look at this thread I have to pick my jaw up off the floor. Your work Is AMAZING!!!!! Keep the pics coming!!!

Not being funny, but I think Geiger would be jealous. Absolutely fantastic work so far Leigh, I'm loving this thread soo much. Jaw dropping' stuff dude, keep
it up and don't get downhearted about coming up with your own ideas for it, that's what has made it so good.

As time as gone on you have proved yourself to be a resourceful artist with a critical eye for detail and what looks good. I think what you have achieved here is just astounding to say the least.

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Your Skills far out weigh your ego.

Well said, Frank!!!

Wow. Wow.

Thank you :) the support from this place is just Awesome :)

I've done a little bit more:

I'm doing what I've done all along by trying it all out on one side before I start on the other side. I havent gone too over the top with the wire work I hope, I didn't want it to be too heavily detailed.
I picked up some water based air dry clay for some of the work on the base & I'm pleased with the results :)
I'm now thinking about remaking the area's on the body where the mould join lines will be, using the air dry stuff instead of the oil based clay so that the finish isn't damaged during the mould making process.
It would only be small area's like the chest spines & the back spines.
I've just stippled a layer of white primer over it for now, I have to go over it with some caulking here n there to remove any undercuts etc.
I'm going to add some subtle organic looking bits & continue some of the wire work into the detail on the front part before I finish this, so from here I'll get it done upto spray primer stage & then get some pic's :)
