Looking mighty good Trooper _trent!!:cool:(y)(y)(y) Are you going to leave it pristine or add some wear & tear?
I'm going to bring the sheen down (this is just raw stain with no steel wool yet) and do a satin sealer and maybe antique it a bit. Not as beat up as the screen used door because it's a really nice door and faces the hallway when closed. I'm trying to find the balance of looking the part but also being part of the house.

Looking very good...but I thought that the handle and the part with the slit, where you insert your security card, was one piece:unsure:

Rounding the last corner!

I marked then milled the slot in the door using a router adapter on my Dremel and clamping some wood strips to the door to make a fence that the router housing could glide through.
Then affixed it to the door using E6000, a clamp, and an alignment jig that I had 3D printed in order to set the correct spacing according to the reference photos. A bit of glue leaked out but that's the good thing about E6000. Once it's dry, you can just peel the excess off with your fingers.

Last step is to apply the numbers and hang the door and it'll be DONE!

I love the color you went with! And how you incorporated the scan card, wicked!
Funny story about the key card.

I modeled it from looking at screen reference, and fortunately we have a really great photo of the screen-used key card plate next to a ruler so I know that mine is scaled perfectly.

I didn't actually test putting the key card into the slot until YESTERDAY! The key card is standard credit card size, and the slot is just a hair too narrow for the card to go in. BUMMER!
So then as I'm looking back through my reference material to respond to another post I noticed that on the screen-used plate, the slot has some rough bits milled out on the sides as if to manually widen it. I can't help but wonder if the card didn't fit the real one either so they dremeled it out a bit to allow it to fit. In the film you can see the card is going into the extended part of the slot.

For me, rather than ground down the bronze plate, I'm just going to shave a hair off the sides of the card, and I need to punch holes in it. haha
