Blade Runner Inspired Office Build: Deckard's Apartment

I saw the customization immediately but figured you had taken that into account by either replicating that detail or adjusting the slot width...

Funny story about the key card.

I modeled it from looking at screen reference, and fortunately we have a really great photo of the screen-used key card plate next to a ruler so I know that mine is scaled perfectly.

I didn't actually test putting the key card into the slot until YESTERDAY! The key card is standard credit card size, and the slot is just a hair too narrow for the card to go in. BUMMER!
So then as I'm looking back through my reference material to respond to another post I noticed that on the screen-used plate, the slot has some rough bits milled out on the sides as if to manually widen it. I can't help but wonder if the card didn't fit the real one either so they dremeled it out a bit to allow it to fit. In the film you can see the card is going into the extended part of the slot.

For me, rather than ground down the bronze plate, I'm just going to shave a hair off the sides of the card, and I need to punch holes in it. haha
Dude I bet you’re 1000% right!! They modified it once they realized it wouldn’t fit, wow!!

And… DONE! Just like that all the major features of my office conversion are completed! Still a few minor touch-ups and several items I want to curate, and I'm working on a few ideas, but all the major components are finished so I can officially consider the construction complete!

Does sitting in this office put you into a melancholy mood where you just want to sit around drinking whiskey, plinking at the piano keys and looking at old photos?
Nope, I don't think so myself;) But, ff he adds the fog and some light beams coming through the blinds, then yes!:p:p

ha, yes. Actually, sitting in my office sipping whiskey and watching the movie, feeling all cozy and melancholy was the inspiration for building it in the first place. It was such a nice mood and vibe that I was like "I wanna just live here" and started designing the layout. A little over a year and a half later and it's a reality!

Wow,Amazing,so cool i could go on but i don't need to. Anybody who see's it will probably add more things like Awesome,Fantastic. You have put a lot of work into that and it has paid off. You've done a mans job sir.

If you want to know what it's like, I recommend pouring a glass of whiskey and watch this with the lights off.
This "rain storm" event is triggered by tapping my phone to an NFC tag next to the Cibi whiskey glass. Blade Runner Blues starts playing and the rain slowly comes in, sprinkled with thunder and the occasional Spinner fly-by.

Wow. That takes "immersive" to the next level. I'll bet it's fun to hang out in there! The urge to keep it tidy must be overwhelming though!
