Already got those beauties from the same maker (with sound and light effects):

Anyway, don't want to derail this thread any further. Back to Brandomack's built! (y)

In the meanwhile, this beauty is on it's way to my home ;-). It was MUCH more expensive than brandomack's (I would not have paid the price I paid if I didn't REALLY want a replica of this prop, I guess) and not in metal, but since I dropped out of this run, I went looking for alternatives and this one just looked awesome. Additionally, it was located in the EU, so no risk of the blaster getting confiscated by customs (or the risk of getting a huge customs fees bill).

Anyway, I hope this run turns out OK. Looking forward seeing the finished product of brandomack! An all metal K's blaster with working electronics and real Carbon Fiber grips would be the ultimate version of this prop, I guess...
Who makes this?

The carbon fibre manufacturer got back to me, and i’ll be pulling the trigger (pun intended) on the order. The mold cost will be large, but the quality of the grips will be unmatched.

They will cost me $63.50USD plus shipping per grip to manufacture.

Also, if anyone would like either a resin printed or FDM printed version of the blaster as partial compensation for a deposit, please let me know and i will make it happen.

sorry brandon i don't understand your last post.can you explain it please?

Sorry, perhaps a better way to put it is this.

If anyone who was considering asking for a refund would instead like a 3D printed blaster as partial refund, then that offer is open.

I didn’t want to put the offer out there for sale of a 3D printed version to others unless everyone here had first dibs.

It would be a “i’ve got a finished blaster, who wants it?” type of deal.

so does this mean you are not finishing the original blasters?

I will continue work on the blasters, now that the grip struggle has been dealt with.

What i wanted to do was offer up either finished 3D printed finished versions or 3D printed kit versions as a means of fundraising to pay for the grips and also immediately delivering said product to the consumer.

If someone had already received a refund, but wanted a 3D printed version, this money would go towards a bulk grip order from the manufacturer.

So Brandon,if people who have stayed in on this run where willing to pay you the $63.50USD would this help speed things up? That way you are not struggling to find the cash to sort the grips out.

No, as much as it would help, its on me to find the money.

I'm all in and just waiting for my all metal version. This is one for the record books. Still just as excited to get it in my hands. I appreciate everything your doing Brandon. We know this has not been easy for you, but how awesome will it be when they're done. Appreciate the updates.

So what will the grip be made of then? Pewter coated with carbon fiber?
No, they will be carbon fibre and resin throughout. From my understanding, they use a steel mold, with prepreg carbon fibre cloth and resin which is then vacuum bagged and put into an autoclave to cure.
