Avengers: Endgame (Post-release)

What did you think of Avengers: Endgame?

I just don't see it as quite as meaningful if you edge out titanic (which, admittedly it will eventually leave in the dust) which was out 20 years ago. Avatar may have 3D to boost it but it was what? 15 years ago? There's now IMAX at a higher rate as a 'boost' still.

I'd like to see endgame get to the top, but, but say it finishes at 2.9. It's a great achivement, but i'd say avatar's was a bit better.
FWIW, if you recall in 2009 just about every screening of Avatar had the 3D at double the ticket price. Most screenings of Endgame today aren’t IMAX. So that’s a false equivalence. But that’s beside the point.

Whether justified or not, Avatar and Titanic have been lauded as supreme box-office champions only if you don’t apply those qualifiers that would have GWTW at #1. If Endgame beats Avatar it would be using the same metric that would have Avatar beating GWTW. If Avatar is an “achievement” then, by the same standard, so is Endgame.

(On a personal note that doesn’t change the fact that Avatar is a fiery load of steatorrhea.)

Weren’t both Avatar and Titanic released in theaters multiple times, as well?

I know Titanic was, because I went to see it in 3D with my wife, who I didn’t even know when the film first came out.

I also feel like Avatar was...I worked with a guy that seriously went to see it like a dozen times, and I seem to remember him going like a year after it originally released.

I’m amazed at most of the youtubers I follow and the complaints?!

I really enjoyed this movie and really surprised at the disappointments many of the youtubers had.

Because most of the time these youtubers I follow are on the same page as me

With 2.2 billion in 10 days I think more people like it then don’t..

I can't really get into folks doing movie reviews or reactions on YouTube, with few exceptions. Frankly, I can't really do most YouTube content because it so easily skews toward griping. Not to mention the wasteland of the comments sections.
I'm not sure what the complaints are, but there are definitely nits to pick if that's their jam. I like Kevin Smith's movie reactions. He's usually so baked that he just gushes about the stuff he loves.

I saw it over the weekend. At the end, I'm thinking there was not a dry eye in the entire theater. There were a group of three 17+ year old girls behind us that you could hear sniffling and crying. The teenagers boys beside us trying to wipe away tears. I liked it because you really couldn't predict what would happen next.

I usually enjoy reading nitpicking. Doesn't hurt my enjoyment. Seeing that storm trooper bang his head doesn't ruin Star Wars for me. I'm sure someday I'll pick this one apart too, although I'm probably going to just enjoy it for what it is a few times first. I've already decided this one is going in the permanent collection. Definitely worth a few more viewings.

Just had to share :D

this is why time travel is difficult to deal with.
When they killed past Thanos , reality should have reverted to that point every characters memory changing possibly ???

All the explanation in the world does not explain how Thanos collected the infinity stones after him and his army were dusted !

I say they owe us some more movies showing us what happened in our new reality .

Ego only found quill because he held an infinity stone if that dude was working for Thanos and Thanos died before that point that's all changed . It goes on and on .

Stupid time travel .

The pim particle problem was stupid as well . They could have all gone back just a few years to hanks house. I
pretty sure if the entire avengers with prof hulk showed up on his doorstep and told him the score he would have helped out .

That Thanos and his army were not, at that point, from the past. The moment they left their reality, they split off a separate timeline.

The "past Thanos" who brought his armies over to fight is from an alternate timeline. The Thanos of this universe, who snapped out half of humanity and was beheaded by Thor, is not the same individual.

In a nutshell time travel to the past takes the traveler to an alternate universe. That's why you can't alter your present reality through time travel. You're affecting only a different reality, not your own. This doesn't work like Back to the Future.
