A couple of shots of Han's coat, color corrected to remove the blue lighting.

Rough mock up of back with lazer printed paper.
I think the thing to do would be to get a clear or translucent sheet of styrene and stick that over the circuit board pattern. Then take the middle section and put over that like a sandwich.

Oh i echo your sentiments. It was tiring trooping in my sandtrooper armor lugging around a hardware Lewis Gun, and not being able to sit down just made matters worse. i usually lose a few pounds after an afternoon of trooping :lol

When that strapping pulls your meat and veg into your groin you might change your mind about that :eek
AT-AT driver can't walk down stair without holding the straps up from your knee's and you can only sit down if the chair has no back :angry

Lastly when you take your bucket off you can't put it down without unconecting the pipes having a blaster and no table just adds to the nightmare :eek :eek

Apart from that its a loverly costume :D :D

Thanks DK.

Small update. I replaced the 'dot' on the forehead with a piece of acrylic rod. The rod came from a cheepo led flicker wand.
It has a nice beveled edge to it. I sawed the end off. After a light sanding, I primed it and painted it silver.

Thanks again. It is slow going. I'm basically having to tear stuff out or off and re-do it to make it more accurate since I bought my armor already completed. Here are the latest updates.

Replaced the buttons on the shoulder connectors with Kenny's smooth knobs. The backs of the connectors will have these as well.

Cut the back of the chestbox out and the front of the chest plate. Bolted the chestbox onto the chestplate. This will give me easy access to the inside to add electronics, etc... Dan left me a nice message inside. :)

For the backplate, I laserprinted the image and glued only the 'circuitboard' sides to sheet styrene. I then sprayed a clear piece of sheet styrene with Testors flat laquer to frost it and glued this over the circuitboard layer. I then cut out the center section of one of my decals and stuck that on top of the frosted piece. This sandwiching gives the backplate some depth. I am currently working to get the center box correctly angled and the top box poured in clear resin. The plate will be attached via 4 rivets in the corners.

Here's the piece that's currently giving me fits. I've sprayed it with krylon gloss pewter gray and the paint is krinkling. The areas you see should be smooth. I've washed it. Scrubbed it with plastic prep. Primered with Tamiya primer. I've basically done everything right. Any ideas? Either the cold weather, or @#$%!ty paint. I've used the same paint to paint my boots and it dries smooth!!!!

Possibly different brands of paint / primer reacting adversely. Cold weather also may be a factor if you're spraying it outdoors and bringing it indoors immediately. The difference in temperatures will cause a condenseate effect in the paint resulting it what you see.

There are those few factors I can offer from pure experience.

If you can't spray indoors, then take a hairdryer or heat gun and get the can warm....shake it constantly until the temperature in the can stays stable and warm even when shaking......then go outside, shoot the peice and come back in. In the small amount of time it will take to shoot that small of a peice you shouldn't have any problem with condensation since the paint AND peice will be of about the same temperature.

Best of luck :thumbsup
