Anyone planning on picking up the Target Helmets and "improving" on them?

Country Paul you did a fantastic job, and looks great in your display. Also love that this helmet has so much potential, its a diamond in the rough.

And its so unfortunate this great helmet was discontinued. I hope Target changes their mind or other retailers decide to restock it

Great Christmas gifts. Couldn't help myself. Every Time i walked into Target and saw one, I bought one. They also sold me ones missing the range finder (seems common) for $15 each.

Damn! I haven't found a single one! I've been to oth local targets plenty of times these last weeks also! My target still has the spots for the helmets, but the shelves are now full of silly little pumpkin decorations. Pretty bummed!

What would be the best thing to strengthen the First Order Trooper and Kylo Ren masks? I am very new to DIY costuming, so I am needing advise. I know to bondo the gap where the two piece come together, but I want the masks to be stronger than what they are if that is possible. Thanks!

I'm redoing a kids X-wing one right now ( http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=247610 ) and fiberglassed it after using CA glue to secure the pieces together, I think earlier in this thread someone did the same with a stormy bucket.

Pick up an automotive fiberglassing kit. Bondo makes them. It comes with fiberglass resin, some hardener, and fiberglass cloth. It's actually relatively easy to do, if not a bit messy. I just fiberglass my first helmet and it is MUCH stronger (and heavier).

My next mod. Flame trooper + storm trooper = FO Tie Pilot.

I've been following the thread for a while and am loving all the mods and repaints so I thought I'd post the Target/Rubies Fett helmet I just finished. The visor was cut out and replaced with one from T-visor, the RF stalk was lengthened with some brass rod an then pretty much everything was repainted. The paint scheme is inspired by the ESB helmet with some creative license taken. I know it's not perfect or screen accurate but for my first real try at a halfway decent Fett helmet I'm pretty happy with it.

Can I entice someone to sell me a target boba fett helmet? Probably not but worth a try.

Hate to say it but ditto I have the old one with The sayings and stuff but I lost the antenna so it's not really that cool

Honestly just an antenna would be great if any of you aren't using yours

I got several of those Hasbro Boba helmets. First thing that had to go to make them less recognizable as the kids' toys they started out as was those horrendously oversized earcaps. Whether you need just the detachable rangefinder or the whole assembly of both earcaps plus electronics, PM me. Free to good home, except for buyer covering shipping.
