ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

I don´t really understand him when posting his one-sentence questions, but if i have to guess about the problem he may have .... i wonder if he has disassembled his Denix, or if he tries to drill/thread/assemble on the completed gun?

I seem to recall reading in one of the early Han Solo novels that the blaster was Han's when he was still in the Imperial Navy, and the disc identified the blaster as Imperial property. Han kept the blaster after he was booted out of the service and pried off the disc in disgust for the Imperials. Which could explain the circular mark(or missing paint/finish). Although, it's been mentioned in several books that his blaster was custom-made; which could still be true, and the former-Imperial blaster was the base for his "custom-job."

good find! do you remember the name of the book?

Fairly certain it was in one of the Han Solo trilogy novels by Brian Daley

Great books by the way.

I think the theory that the prop maker had glued on the "Imperial disc"(as seen on the Merr Sonns), painted the whole blaster, and from all the handling/holstering/unholstering, the disc broke off, is the most likely explaination.

I don´t think so - they were mostly just episodes from his late smuggler time, not long before meeting a old man and a young boy with a lightsaber - without that much showing of his way till then.

But it could be from the newer Han Solo Trilogy, it shows much more of his younger years, starting with his childhood, his time at the Imps-academy, showing his first shady pilot-jobs, and becoming the Solo we all know.....

I'm pretty sure that whole explanation for the disc was made up by an RPFer. It wasn't from an official source.
I think it was sluisvanshipyards IIRC

No matter if the explanation was later made up by a member here, or a book that was written after the movies - in each way we know it was just glued on, and maybe fallen off by accident or popped off by purpose, cause it made the gun more interesting looking. :lol

Hi, The two rings scope , How do you add to scope? using glue?

Hi there...

while all of us are generally willing to help you, I would recommend to check the existing threads about the Han ANH hero for DETAILED information first. IF there are any additional questions, please be a bit more specific if possible, pics are VERY helpful as well ;)

Deadbolt, kpax, clutch, dmachinist etc. made huge efforts to post brief descriptions and tutorials about how to modify the C96, put together the parts/ sub-assemblies and attach it to the C96.

With regards to your recent question, here´s the tutorial:

Sorry but my English is not good.
I've seen the video and tutorials, but once the two lenses mounted to add to the scope, has to use glue?

I commend the efforts of all, thanks

No problem on your english.
I am no native english speaker either and find it sometimes difficult to explain prop-related "problems" myself. That´s where the pics come handy...a pic is worth a thousand words ;)

No glue needed on the lenses IIRC, they simply sit between the outer and the inner "retaining" ring.

Copy/ paste from the tutorial I posted the link of:

There are the brass front and rear rings that simply slip into the body. there are the two thin threaded rings that hold the lenses in. these are screwed in carefully with the small slots facing you so you can use a small screwdriver or pointed thing (on one side only) to spin the ring down against the lens...bubble side out.

The rear large lens goes in followed by the reticle crosshair then the threaded ring tightened against it.

NOT TOO TIGHT! You don't want to break the lens.

The rear brass lens holder has an outer ring as well. this is threaded on.

from tutorial
"You can slide them in to the Blued or finished scope tube. They are held in place by the tiny screws included. one on the bottom of each under the scope body. The third in the center of the scope is just a detail on the real scope."

Ahhhh, I have not, not if lost or did not come in the package....

Those screws are very small.
David packed them well and taped these to a piece of blue cardboard.

Just check your package as well as the packing paper the scope parts were wrapped in.

To attach the lens rings to the scope tube, you use the tiny set screws. You may have to cut a small channel into the ring so the set screw goes in far enough to be flush with the scope tube. I'd show you, but the gun shop still has my @$@% scope.

I was in contact with our friend carlatonina and I think he has the screws and is back on track now, it's great that everybody has tried to help him out, :thumbsup

You can do as Clutch suggested and cut a shallow channel in the brass tube OR file down the screws a bit. Leave enough to put a bit of pressure on the brass for a snug fit.

Reminder: Some of the hardware needs to be adjusted and trimmed for the best fit.
