Love the boots!!
I have boots but mine dont have the top buckles but are good on the height. I was going to add buckles, but now I'll use them as is for the concept version.
Amazon is a wonderful place to buy shoes.... *whistles* I think I came across these but the only size left was 6.5. I love my boots though, so I'm good!!
PS. YAY! Sarah, you're here! Now if my posts explode into flames from talking about Anjacklica, someone will know why! XD
And yeah! As Aubree said, they're on Amazon...but no sizes are left. Well, not normal sizes at least They're coming in today, so I'll post a picture of how they look in person/how high they are. Been scouring for fabrics at the local fabric stores, here's what I have so far...any thoughts on what you like best?
For "E", I'd dye it in a dark green if I went with it. I'd like to get 1/4 yard and test it out to see how the red would react first. I don't know what to go with, though.
if anyone like the fabrics, the paisley i got is currently 7.50/m and the brown/plum/mysterycolourchanging medium weight dull satin for the backing is currently 5.50/m only til Sunday! And I'm going Sunday and stocking up... if you want any, let me know. i'll send it wherever if you want to pay for the fabric and shipping... no extra charges. just wanna help out!
btw, a metre is 1.09 yards.
vest trim is leather ribbon trim something or other... ebay it, easy to find. XD
Sarah, I like paisley A! the contrast in it is really nice. nice antique colours too! b is really busy but i also like the colours in it, c is really light and would look really monotone if you dyed it... i think D is in the same family as mine but with a heavier print! if e is all cotton, i think you'll end up with a very dark green vest all over... and f looks like it has candy canes floating about...
I agree!! I mean, we're kind of already talking about it on chat, but "A" is my favorite one. I didn't even realize the candy canes...but now that I see them it cannot be unseen XDDD So far it's "A" and the big print I posted separately, but I'm waiting on my sample to come in. I may take you up on the fabric offer, btw...
This would match the action figure! How big are the paisleys? I purchased fabric on ebay like this and they were way too large. Good thing the fabric is perfect for a friend's Star Wars costume.
Love the boots!
aelynn000 I love the paisley fabric you have chosen. I currently have a bid on navy fabric on ebay ( it is not screen accurate but it will match Barbie!) which doesn't close until Monday morning our time, otherwise I would take you up on your kind offer.
Update: Here is the latest lot of fabric that I have on it's way. I just hope the material doesn't get lost in the mail like the last lot.
Unfortunately, the print on my blue fabric WAS huge. Good thing it was just a sample. I'm currently waiting on this one to arrive, which is kinda similar to yours, but dark green. Hopefully I like it in person XD
Lunesca that print does look promising, especially as it comes in green.
The paisley I found is Laura Ashley from 1985 and came in four different colours, so I have been trolling ebay for remnants. Green was my first purchase (but that got lost in the mail). So now I have settled for the blue (which does match Barbie) on it's way. I am hoping that it will arrive in time for me to make up for Supernov (local comic con) in two weeks.
Still waiting for fabric to arrive from overseas. However with a con taking place this weekend I have come with this version:
I still haven't worked out sucessfully the back (and it isn't that bright either). However this version came cheap with off cuts for the back and trim. The front panel fabric in a previous life was a horrible table cloth I found in a thrift store. Not including the cotton, it cost $10.
It still needs some tweaking but here are the colours it has right now and a better idea for how it will look completed! I do plan on spacing out those jellybeans a bit more so it's not so busy in the background.
I also plan on posting the full size image publicly ( it's HUGE!!! I wasn't sure how big custom printing places needed it... so I just made it monstrous. Easier to edit details too when drawing with a mouse. Neutral ) for anyone who wants to custom print it, but I am hoping to get a few ladies interested in a bulk order for rush production so we can have it for the movie. Smile If anyone is interested, please let me know!
PS: It's also done with just the pencil tool in photoshop, so with the monster file, anyone can open it up in there and just click to fill to change the colours to whatever they'd like. Want a goth rock hot pink and black paisley vest? Be my guest! XD I'm doing it for the wenches of the world, not for the credit!
aelynn000 I am interested in fabric. I stop working out how much this costume is costing me. :lol It has been fun working on the puzzle and that we have been able to share our experiences.
Re-did the paisley and went back to a greenish hue. More detail, even though it's still a little bit sketchy since I drew it with a mouse. But for the $16/1y I'll need for the vest, I think it'll work better than anything I've found locally.
bpearl, let me know how much you'd like if you're still interested. I know ACME has some on the way too...his is much tidier...but not sure how much his will be or if he will be selling just the fabric.
I will be cleaning up the loose pixels in the teal that are floating around where they shouldn't be in the other colours. XD
edit: latest and FINAL version... other than some minor cleanup and realignment.
Bpearl...you're from Australia right? I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to send you the file so you can place order yourself instead of my paying for intl shipping to get it in Canada and then shipping it back out intl to aus. The bulk order discount is only for 20y or more and I don't think we have that many girls. I'd get it to resell but the rush on 12 y or more is 100 dollars! Yeesh... I may order more for regular shipping though which is about 20 days.
So I think if you want rush to have it within a week or two and thus, before the movie, it would be best to do it separately. Ill recalculate once I get home and can see all the numbers though!
