Anakin Starkiller is going to @Halliwax’s house this weekend and then he’s going to film some build videos. I expect we’ll see them posted either this weekend after some editing or next week.

I almost lost one of the tiny screws holding the plate on the control box (my own fault, I wasn't paying attention when I dumped the bag out on my counter), but to anyone else who hasn't gotten theirs yet: be careful, those things are TINY

They really are. I recommend in the future dumping those bags in a jar lid or something so the parts don't roll off. Keeps them easily accessible when assembling the hilt as well.

I didn’t touch the tiny screw bag until I watched the Halliwax video, then I screwed all the tiny screw in to the tiny plate, as well as the retention screw.
I am, I’m changing my format to the build threads, my life is too hectic now to do still frame build logs and videos
So I will be doing build threads now with detailed parts list, where to get them
Material lists, paints, tools ect ect
And build videos
I have a few questions I want to go over with Dan, and I will be starting the build log, or behind the scenes work no one sees on film this weekend . I am also starting another v2 commission so I’m juggling things
I have been very lucky this winter, barely any snow and many weeks we have gotten days in the 40s!!
Roughly 5 more weeks and the cold weather is gone and I’ll be back in action every weekend.
There isn’t much painting required for this, but I have noticed metallic paints DONT like the cold!!
So getting the windvane right looks to be my only problem, which isn’t 1/4 as bad as trying to paint and weather a whole v2 in 10-20degree weather..
I am wicked excited to do this yuma build! But the hero has to be done first
Dude one of my biggest problems.. I’m always dropping stuff it bounces off the work bench and into the carpet never to be seen again.. I invested in some cheap tools

These 2 cheap pieces of crap have saved me so many times.. just slowly run it over the carpet until I hear “click!!”
And then I get the big smile
THIS! I also fence as a hobby and when repairing/maintaining my epees (and also building lightsabers), a magnetic pick up has saved my butt so many times when a tiny head screw has gone flying across the room. Would second everyone in the hobby getting one of these.

I'm glad I was in my kitchen, so it fell on tile. If it had fallen into my carpet I probably would have just sighed and gone "One's close enough"
Before I bought these magnets if I lost something I’d grab my mothers vacuum. Dump the container and vacuum the area, check the container, repeat until I found the stinka..

You need to be signed in to Shapeways to be able to download files (if the uploader has it set accordingly). Log in and a "DOWNLOAD PRODUCT" button will appear on the page below the product description.
