Sorry. I don't know anything about his new shells. I was referring to the shells he sold a few years back.
I think I saw this one at the Las Vegas ST con in 2019. I'll have to check my photos when I get home.

This appears to be the other of the 2 Nichols’ Phasers, based upon the paint wear, and not the one seen in the on-hand inspection video.
This appears to be one that was displayed at the Paul Allen (EMP) Museum for a time:

That’s all the mid grades. There were multiple mid grades made for the show. The details look an awful lot like the Capt Tracey midgrade from the close up shot in "Omega Glory". i.e. Lack of rising sight detail. Simplified "ten turn". Velcro and painted side rail.

Ron had access to the West Coast Collectors midgrade according to himSo let me get this straight, did Shanko have access to a known original midgrade and base his shells on that?
The nozzle is even more polished than it was during filming; funny how aging does that!So here's the best pics of the Phaser I saw at teh 2017 Las Vegas Star Trek Con. If I remember it was represented as one of NN's phasers.

I've binge read this thread, start to finish over the last 24 hours, and by god has it been a roller coaster. As someone said pages ago, if you had to turn it into a script, you'd fill a season's worth of episodes, filled with chills, thrills and betrayals. If nothing else, there was a ton of phaser trivia and information here, and it makes me want to get a kit and build a phaser now...
But the kit was from the Desilu prop department and sent to Chang to give it a once-over but ended up in Nimoy’s hands after Spock’s Brain wrapped and it’s got this provenance letter from Irving Feinberg. I don’t see the issue.

That was in down-town Manhattan...right?True story…
My cousin’s brother-in-law’s uncle’s best friend’s nephew’s neighbor’s classmate once met a random man on a bus in 1972 who was handing out original phasers, from a box under his arm, to anyone that wanted one…
