The only two members i'm aware of doing any pieces in silicone are Alphatech686 and Backbone. Not exactly sure how you cast it, but if possible I might suggest brushing the silicone in the mold and letting it cure, and thereby working in more even layers? Just a guess as I've never cast in silicone before.

Yup. Cant find info anywhere on it, but thats what I plan to do next go. Thin layers and build them up. Silicone is too viscous for any other method. Mine is anyway. Probably going to build upboth halves as much as I can, then seal the mold and touch up the inner seams with a long brush. Total pain in the ass, but I love silicone. I may try latex as well, just for kicks. But Im pretty sure my mold/sculpt are too small when shrinkage is taken into account.
I do silicone molds..
You will need to do small layers on each half and then brush the seams with a small amount of silicone. This is a tricky process and be careful not to get silicone over lapping before you seam your mold or they will not go together. I would also reccomend tinting your silicone before painting it will save a ton of time.

Good deal... if you dont know silicone needs to be painted within 72 hrs or it will not bond well and may delaminate if stretched. But that time restarts everytime you paint in that area. Good luck. If you go to facebook and look up Kansas City Predators costuming group i have several silicone projects on there that may help you get your project done.
