Accurate Obi Wan ANH saber - MKIII

How accurate is the Parks Sabers MKIII saber? Havn't been in the hobby for years and I know from the the past that Park's arent the most screen accurate around, but considering recent discoveries of the real steal parts used to build the saber I assume Parks is now able to exactly replicate them. Unfortunately I do not know enough about the saber to tell if it's accurate... what is the consensus on the MKIII? The price is right.

It's about the best you'll get without either paying top dollar for real parts (which you wouldn't really want to modify to light up anyway) or hunting down Russrep parts.

It's the best/most accurate one you can buy without much effort. ;)

no, the MKIII as is does not light up, but can be made to fairly easily. I as well as a few others on here have managed it.

Parks Obi-Wan MKIII does not light up. There is one of Parks' saber models that does, but it has somewhat different parts that make it less accurate.

Which discoveries are you referring to? The last major ones that I have heard of were the emitter and "gear", and those were discovered five-six years ago.
By the way, the real emitter wasn't made of steel, but of a nickel/chrome alloy.

I think that the last generation of parts that Romans Empire's did are more accurate than Parks' current parts. RE's parts have not been produced in years, but you can see them for sale quite often in the Junkyard.
There are tonnes of of old threads debating the parts of Obi-Wan's sabers ...

You should also be aware that there is also some controversy surrounding Parks ...

So basically it's the most accurate version that is still being made? Ya the discoveries I was talking about where the emitter and gear... My interest in the hobby was fading at the time of those and well, 5 years doesn't seem that long ago really. If I were to ask you where to go for the most accurate obi wan anh saber, what would you say?

Hi there,

Russ Rep are the most accurate made closely after the real parts and he started a second run with the grenade and emitter :

Followed by the transistor run and a second run of the booster gear and cone adapter.

All you need is his pommel, which he still may have some left from his last run, and a graflex clamp. So start collecting your Obi-Wan ANH lightsaber . . . today :D
