Merry Christmas everyone!
I've waited until today to open up my gift to have something special to look forward to for my first Christmas away from family, and my Santa sure did make it special. Woke up today and tore open the present first thing, only to find a dwarven keepsake: The Key to Erebor!
Now, I know the films weren't the best, but the Hobbit is my favorite book of all time, hands down. I've read it so many times alone, and with/to others, that I can recite every riddle and song from memory. And, what the films DID have, courtesy of Weta once again, were fantastic props. This one specifically, I have wanted to pick up for a while, but just never did, so to get this lovely metal version is just awesome. I had to whip out my favorite looking edition of the books to grab a pic with it. It's permanent display position will be adjacent to one of my lovely gifts from last year, the hand of the king from GOT.
Not only that, but there was also a letter enclosed promising something else is on the way?! This alone was awesome enough, so I just wanted to offer a heartfelt thank you to my Secret Santa for making my Christmas a special one!
And of course, as always, a very big thank you to Michael for running this every year and spreading the joy of the holidays to all of us here who call the RPF one of our homes.
Have a wonderful holiday season everyone.
