2012 So Cal Prop Party CRAVE ONLINE VIDEO PAGE 1

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party (It's that time of year again)

we should be good to go I think!

Also I know it's still in planning phase so there may be no answer to this question or it may be someone else who will need to answer this but....Does the $20 a person include food or no? Are we thinking pot luck if food isn't available at the venue or catering?

I only mention because last time I paid for two of us (and only I came) and while I was a bit late by the time I got there there was no food left. That kind of sucked.

Just figured if that could be on the back burner of thought while planning that'd be way cool. But last year was a blast and I'm definitely glad I made it out there!

Man I'd love to go. I live in Mission Viejo, but I'll probably be up in Berkeley for school :(

Dude. you are right down the freeway from me. Come to my housewarming party on the 19th. Meet some of the gang.

I TOTALLY Forgot about that, and yes, it DID suck.

This time, if I don't get food, I'm gonna throw a tantrum and ruin the party.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party (It's that time of year again)

"Name tags" I know they were optional at the last party, some people had them some did not, myself didn't have one. However i believe they should be instituted from here on out so we can keep track of who is welcomed and who is not. Allot of the food was eaten by people who weren't even part of the prop party if i recall correctly. I didn't eat either :(

I have no problem being party security :D If i remember last time i was designated to remove a few people by mighty Matt and Barney Fyfe lmao.

This year I think a pot-luck is a great idea! Last year was over twice as big as the previous year and we had a lot of people come that were not on the list.

While I encourage guests of members to come, it is up to the members that invited them to control your guests and make sure they understand that they are GUESTS!!!

This year, since it will be at a convention hall or a wharehouse type area, we will be asking for everyone to BYOB. I know that any money that doesn't go towards the rental of the space will go towards libations (<---that is for Becky's man) and food but again I really like the pot-luck idea so that could be a way to reduce the costs.

I know that Dennis (TymerDC) has scouted a few places, so I hope to have a better idea of locations soon.

I also hope that this year will be HUGE! Including many more movie/tv cars and I encourage ALL costumers to come dressed to the nines!!!

Actually have you thought about having it in April to coincide with monsterpalooza maybe?

Well the Wondercon/Anaheim Comic Con is a bigger pull and that is March 16th - 18th. Though it might be better to do it the weeks before then.

Hells yes! I had a great time last time and have been looking for excuses to hang out with my prop peeps. I am in, let's say +1 for my wife as well.

If my warehouse location is ok'ed by the owner, any cars would be able to drive right in. The only major issue is it does not have available restrooms on the side we would be occupying. In the end, this may kill the location.

I totally forgot Wondercon was in SoCal this year! Im really going to try and make this and Monsterpalooza - Southwest boarding lines here I come

Robstyle.....Porto Johns are cheap to rent. Kinda of nasty but an option. Im mean hell, we all have used them at concerts etc. :confused A free venue would really keep costs down.

Im thinking about the whole price of admission and guests problem last year. I also got a hard roll and salad dressing as the buffet was destroyed by the time I got there. Pot luck has its issues as well. Some people might bring a platter but some will only bring their appetite.....and guests.

Possible solutions:

Brad makes the numbered badges electronically with the username and real name on it. Email them out for the member to laminate if desired. At least we can identify the moochers (non marked people):lol Kids under 12 I understand.

Assuming the free warehouse is secured, reduce the fee and require a food item.

A month out, go down the list and assign food types IE:, ART-salad, Star Wars Chick-dessert, Manfromnaboo-200 plastic cups, Montrager-sandwich platter/entre, Micdavis- 200 paper plate/napkins, Boozebegood-Booze. No food item, higher fee (to buy food for them).

late comers will just have to pay a higher fee.

Option 'B': Cater the whole damn thing from El Polio loco. They have catering menus. I did my 'day after wedding get together' from them and it was like $400 to feed 100 people IIRC

I dont want to come across as crass but part of the RPF is 'collaborate' and pitching in. If everyone pitches in, this will be another hum dinger.

What about inviting that guy from the SyFy prop show? Or Mythbusters Adam? Or......

Anyway, just some thoughts.

I would order from them but their chicken legs are always so boney and have no meat on them. I much rather go with El POLO LOCO :lol :lol :lol

I have invited Adam both years but as we should already know, he is a busy guy with a lot of prior commitments. But I will certainly ask again.

But eating crazy polo players seems a bit cannabilistic.

I recommend..

EL POLLO Loco. (That extra L makes quite a difference on what you are eating lolol)

BAZINGA.....

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party (It's that time of year again)

Anybody in the Sanfernando Valley or Santa Clarita area with an enclosed trailer? I'd love to bring my Megaforce MK4 Bike but I don't own a transport or a vehicle that is setup to tow a trailer of any kind.
