2012 So Cal Prop Party CRAVE ONLINE VIDEO PAGE 1

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **Over $2250 worth of RAFFLE ITEMS **

Plans seem to be running smooth so far for the party.....Just a reminder that although we have ordered food and plan on having enough shouldn't discourage anyone from bringing food or snacks. So if you want to bring your favorite Klingon dish, Jedi cookies or soft beverages please do so. my thoughts is its better to have too much food rather than too little.

Yep. Final rental payment made and we are now 4 weeks away.

I hope that everyone brings as many props as they can!!!!!

And as Dennis posted, feel free to being any food you want but we should have enough food for everyone.

Jedi
I have some trading card sets from T2, Star Trek, Jurassic Park and Star Wars. Want them for more raffle items? Just collecting dust in my collection.

Never should have moved away from California. This sounds like a rutting blast of a good time.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **Over $2250 worth of RAFFLE ITEMS **

My thoughts exactly. I have friends constantly trying to convince me to move... there are people and events in SoCal that just aren't elsewhere. Luckily we have great people willing to put this thing together for us!

UPDATED 1st post with AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT!

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

This event is looking better and better.

I just had a paid car rental for the same day fall into my lap, though, so I may have to pass - I suppose it's way too late to swap the date back to the original March 8th or that Saturday? There are a list of about 5 movie cars that may stop by even if I'm unable to make it, and I'll definitely stop by the after-party that evening.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

Okay, can someone help me out? What happens at these? I build mostly plastic models, about half of them are sci-fi. I have a few studio scale models. Nothing to really bring to this. Is this mostly for people who have costumes to show off? Am I showing my ignorance? If it was more towards models, I would expect more than one category, if there's even that. I guess it's not much of a normal model contest, huh? Oh, but I only live like 5 minutes away, in Lakewood. So I can't miss it, right?
Thanks,
Mike Todd

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

You should definitely come. Bring your models. The party's open to all parts of the forum, the costumes are a pretty new thing.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

Yep. I only made 3 awards because I couldn't think of another category. Feel free to bring your models.

Basically what happens is that we all get together, show off our props/costumes/models, talk and BS for a few hours. It's a great time to mingle face to face with other members.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

The built stuff--at least what I still have, that is also built--is not studio scale. It's much smaller. Is it mostly studio scale stuff at these events?

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

Not at all. You don't have to bring anything. You can just come, eat lunch, meet everyone and maybe win a raffle prize.

Re: 2012 So Cal Prop Party **NOW WITH AWARDS TO BE GIVEN OUT**

How does one get added to the attendee list?

I think you just did!!!

And brad, some of the recent comments make me think that an introductory paragraph should be written for future prop party threads, explaining that the party is open to EVERYONE. You don't need to bring anything, you don't have to build anything. Even if you just want to see what others have made, or put some faces to names. Or make a pass at a fellow RPEffers wife or girlfriend. (hey, that's how I met E-Wan and Slave1Pilot!!! lol and Jedifyfe, now that I think about it. And Mike Senna. And EveningArwen. And Sesl. Man, the list goes on and on!!!!! :D )

On a personal note, I find these events to be one of the most fun times of the year. Some of my best and closest friends are people I met at prop parties. Some of them were even newbies who reluctantly showed up after some prodding.

Honestly, I would say the ONLY good excuse not to attend is because you're either too far away, or dead.
